It's a trifecta of itch. All between my nose and my chest. My face burns and itches because of that acne medication (it's very dry now; on the up side, my face has cleared up!). My neck itches like mad because of some allergic reaction (to some plant, I think). My chest hurts and itches because of my healing sunburn. Not much to do about any of it, really. Topical creams only do so much (and almost all of them contain alcohol, which irritates my already sensitive skin - you should have seen me when I unthinkingly sprayed perfume on this morning!) and I can't take an antihistamine if I want to stay awake. Though I'd rather sleep through all the itching...

This weekend I got a lot of things... closer to finished. I did finish two scarves, then worked on my re-usable grocery bags, a memo board for the kitchen, and a crocheted horse I started ages ago - all of which are closer to finished, at least... I need to go to the craft store at lunch to get some ribbon for the memo board, then maybe I can at least finish that up tonight! So many things to do, so little time. So little energy. *scratch scratch scratch*

Well, the library is opening in a few minutes and I'll get the audiobook Twilight. If it's as bad as some say, and you never hear from me again, you'll know.

ALSO, NOTE TO SELF: renew paid account! Can't not be able to post via e-mail!

(Also, I've gone down to 41 userpics. Oh, the HORROR!)

11 discs.

12 hours, 52 minutes.

Maybe I'm better waiting until the book is available (I'm 13 on the holds list for it). Sure, I'd have to do nothing but read (unlike with an audiobook, where I can do other things at the same time, which may or may not be a good thing) but it'd be over faster. A lot faster.

Ooooh, it's starting. Ooooh, a Bible quote. Yippee. Ooooh, crappily written prologue, foreshadowing doom and gloom! Ooooohhh! *gag* *choke* A few paragraphs in, and I already hate Bella and the narrating style! This is going to be fun! O.o

We have adjectives! Lots and lots and lots of adjectives!

We have passive voice!

We have rambling, compound sentences that make little sense!

And the angst! The whining! The emo-tasticness!

And a running summation of my thoughts on Chapter One )

...of itch. Mr. Smeddley decided we needed to work out in the backyard (read: he needed to mow and I needed to suffer with him!) and despite the bug spray... A few mosquitoes drew blood. Proof that it can always get worse.

Also, a few flies followed us in as we were packing stuff up, and they're following me. No, I'm not crazy - they followed me from downstairs up to my bathroom, then into the laundry room, and now into my office. ARGH! So annoying.

I think I've decided to wait on Twilight until I get a copy of the book. I moved up to 7 on the holds list today, so hopefully it won't be long. The narrator of the audio book really is making it worse.

Can I call in to work itchy and sleep deprived? *sigh* Probably not. I have too much to do tomorrow, intern starting and all that, plus a lot of lunch plans. Oh, hey, want to hear a story about how appreciated and noticed I am at work?

[Boss, Me, and another girl were having a conversation about people being hard of hearing. I mention that I was blessed - or cursed, depending on how you looked at it - with quite good hearing, it's just that my eyesight was horrendous.]

Me: But at least I got my eyes fixed.
Boss: You wear contacts?
Me [staring at him]: No, I had Lasik.
Boss: Really? When?
Me: About 5 years ago.
Boss: You were working here at the time? [note: I've been there 10 years]
Me: Um, yes. I went to Topeka to have it done, got horribly car sick, one of my eyes was a bit swollen for awhile...
Boss: I don't remember that. When was it?
Me: About 5 years ago. When I sat where {...} sits now.
Boss: You sat there?
Me: Uh, yeah.
Boss: I thought you went straight from that cube to your office.
Me: No, actually, I never sat there [the cube right outside his door], I sat where {...} sits.
Boss: Oh, right. But you sat where {...} sits? Really?
Me: Yeah, it was when {...} had my office.
Boss: Really?
Me [calls to co-worker]: Remember when I sat over there?
Co-worker: Yes.
Boss: Huh.

I feel so speckled and appreciated!

EDIT: I also forgot to mention that I picked up another skein of yarn at lunch. It was chunky and bright and obnoxious and I love it. Mr. Smeddley thinks it's... a little loud. BUT! I finished off those two scarves over the weekend so this last week I'm -2 +1 = -1! So I'm only up, what, a dozen overall? :D
