...when you can't sleep? They got here at 7:08 (according to the cable box clock) and besides the dog barking, it's hard to nap when someone is drilling into your stoop. I figured I'd have to get up at some point, but still (I'd already been up twice, once at 3 am to take the dog out and then again at 6 am to make breakfast for Mr. Smeddley - the former happens all to often, the latter is a rarity on weekdays but I was feeling... well, mostly like saving money, so he wouldn't have to stop at McD's for breakfast). I was hoping to sleep until 8!
Completely off-topic news, I swam for 1,000 yards without stopping last night. Probably half backstroke and half crawl. Not too shabby. I think I'm really improving! Although I could really tell my wrist was sore from all that knitting...
So, what to do today? I should probably be somewhat productive. I could...
* Clean - the house is pretty pit-like, and there's a lot of crap that could use cleaning. My office is still heaped with junk, the kitchen needs to be cleaned up, and the whole place could do with a vacuum.
* Craft - probably nothing yarn-y (my wrist is still a little tender) but there's sewing and beading and all sorts of things I could work on.
* Read - I have four books out from the library (and 200+ of my own) that need reading!
* Write - of course I'm behind on NaNo, but I wouldn't be me if there didn't have to be a mad push at the end, right?
* Play Wii or Xbox - why not?
* Vegg out and stare vacantly at the television all day.
* Endlessly refresh LJ - just watching all day for new posts!
Or, you know, some combination of the seven, probably heavily leaning towards to bottom four. I'm sure there are more creative things I could do (something with pistachio pudding and a hairbrush, perhaps?) but I doubt they'd make me feel as accomplished.
Well, that was a boring entry. I'm going to try to get some pictures up later, but I'm worried about my computer losing them again. I think I'll fire up the laptop (hello, Windows XP!) and download them from the camera there before I try to transfer them to my Vista machine. Just in case, you know.
