Just got back from the Sheriff's office, where I was fingerprinted.

They don't use ink, but a cool scanner. That was a plus.

On the down side, they can now catch me if I leave fingerprints at a crime scene. There goes my future as a cat burglar...

I was fingerprinted for a job I was supposed to get at the local military base's provost marshal's office, but they ended up giving the job to someone else :/

Well, that sucks! Was it because they uncovered your serial killer background? ;)
Friday, December 4th, 2009 07:50 pm (UTC)
No, my background check was taking a few months, and they just went ahead and gave it to someone else. My contact at PCSI (the contracted company I was supposed to work for), however, is trying to find me another job.

Ugh. It stinks when it's something you can't control that throws everything all higgly-piggly. Hopefully they'll find something for you soon!

I image the person checking my background would die of boredom. "Ooooh, and here she had a library fine... yeah, and that's about it..."

1. Why were you fingerprinted?

2. That's what gloves are for, silly.

1. What, you don't think I got arrested? ;) It was for a CCH license.

2. They can get fingerprints off the inside of gloves, so I'll just have to be careful with the disposal, I guess...
Friday, December 4th, 2009 07:45 pm (UTC)
1. Nah. That would have been a different type of post. But what does CCH stand for?

2. Well if you're dumb enough to leave the gloves at the crime scene you deserve to get caught.

1. Carry Concealed Handgun

2. This is true. But it's not just about not leaving them at the crime scene, but disposing of them quickly and in a place no one will look for them. Because if they suspect you right off, they might come to search you/your house/your car pretty quickly. And if you toss them too close to the crime scene, they might find them. So it'd probably be best to commit your crime, drive across town, then stop in a fast-food place and toss them in the trash when you're done.

...I know it sounds like I've thought WAY too much about this! Writing mysteries will do that to you...

1. Ah, gotcha.

2. Well, one trick is not to be suspected, but your logical progression makes sense. I completely understand the risks of writing mysteries.

oh my god! you're going to start carying your gun with you? your piece? your iron? your ...

etc

Eh, probably not. But rights are like muscles, you lose them if you don't exercise them... ;)

But I could if I wanted to, and will at least once just because.

There are ways around that... ;)
