The title of this post has nothing to do with this post, except for the fact that it not having anything to do with this post is my first topic of discussion. And that I may, in the future, use random euphamisms culled from weepingcock to title my posts. Because I suck at titles.
The problem with titles is that they need to be 1) interesting 2) pertinent to the story but 3) not give anything important away. 'Vadar, father of Luke' would have been a stupid title for Star Wars.
It is something I have always struggled with. Good thing I'm not really a writer, I suppose. If I can't even manage to title a blog post, how the hell would I title a book? This came up recently as I took part in junetide, and when it came time to submit I was suddenly 'uh... title?! Eeep!' Ah well.
Random fact: my LJ is configured so that if there's no subject on a post, the summary reads 'gutterbumbershoot!'. Geek points to anyone who gets that.
In other news, my weird obsession with growing things from seeds (from things I eat, not store-bought seeds) continues. I do this not for food (many trees grown from seeds will never fruit, that is why orchards get trees by grafting from known producers) but for the challenge, I suppose. Today I checked my fig seeds (pits?) And three of the four had sprouted. Wheeee!

My piece sucked so much I didn't want to be associated with it. :/ I completely over-thought it before I started writing it. However, I am working on a possible pinch-hit piece, which if it works out I will take credit for it, because I kinda like it. IF I can get it to work. We shall see.

I think that even if it does ever get a proper title, you will have to keep it filed (on the computer and in your head!) as [new world] - {real title}, otherwise you'll never find it!
