...and I'm not talking about living in the Midwest, though I've been questioning that a lot lately...

I signed up for the Three Tiny Movie Things swap. Again. You may remember last time, when I watched To Kill a Mockingbird, Volver, Persepolis, Rear Window, and Love, Actually. While two of those were subtitled, and I can't say I loved any of them, they weren't bad movies, though it was tough coming up with ideas for crafts (though once the ideas started flowing, I ended up with too many!).

This time my movie choices are:

Pan's Labyrinth - Subtitled! Yay! I started watching this one once, and lost interest. I really don't like subtitled movies, because if I'm going to read I'd much rather read a book.

Amelie - Subtitled! Oh, joy! This is another I think I tried from the library (around the Little Miss Sunshine time) but I have zero interest in it.

Moulin Rouge or Chicago - I have seen both of these movies, and really hated them.

Beauty and the Beast (1991 edition) - Probably one of my three least favorite Disney movies, along with Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. And Cinderella. Okay, one of my four least favorites.

Princess Mononoke - this is the one on the list I haven't seen, though I think we own it. I'm holding out a lot of hope here.

Any craft ideas you can think of? I messaged my partner and 'fessed up to my dislike, and asked some questions. If it's the costuming she likes from Moulin Rouge, I can work with that. And I'm hoping her favorite character from Beauty and the Beast isn't one of the main characters...

Oh, well, definitely something gnome-related for Amelie. That should be easy.

For Moulin Rouge, an elephant! Or like a doll dress based on one of Satine's outfits?

Am not much into subtitled stuff. I prefer to multitask while the TV is on.

I however did enjoy the musicals, what I saw of them, and the Disney movies are old favorites, though I have my issues with some of them now that I'm grown.

Lots of candlestick/tea pot/whatever options with Beauty and the Beast though. Tea cozy! Baby tea cup! Origami rose. Origami tea set. *snerk* Um.

Never seen Pan's Labyrinth, but there are some creepy things in it? Perhaps you could play around with those.

*hums He had it coming, which is a great song for when you get upset at men...*

I am no help. I hate all those movies except Beauty and the Beast.

Belle is her favorite character, unfortunately. But she did say it was her love of books, so maybe I can go off of that. I've wanted to try making book miniatures for awhile.

I will try to sit through Pan's Labyrinth, I know I didn't watch the whole thing last time. We'll see what I can do (I wish I was a better artist, I could draw something, maybe...).

At least I'm not alone! I think I'm pretty open when it comes to movies, and I like a lot of things, but these... not so much. I wish it'd at least been movies I hadn't seen, because knowing I'm going to dislike them is making the thought of watching them worse.

You can do miniature books, book covers, book plates. Or her mirror or something.

You can do it!

Actually Princess Mononoke isn't half bad; I'm just not an anime fan either.

I just watched it last night, and I don't particularly like it - a bit too preachy, and those forest spirit things are just creepy. Little rattly heads give me the heebee jeebbees. Plus the wormy 'demon-possessed' part was just... gross. *shudder* If I were the type prone to nightmares, that would have done it!
