Veil Dyeing today! I didn't realize it was happening quite so soon, I would have bought a bunch of veils, but as it was I only had one white one and the length of silk I bought at the event, so... Still, it was a great learning experience. What I learned was 1) I like using knots more than rubber bands and 2) if you rubber band something really tightly, no matter if it's dripping dye, it's going to be mostly white.

I LOVE the way the blue one turned out (though I still need to rinse it more, I probably spend 15 minutes rinsing it and it was still oooozing blue) and the other... I'll probably re-dye it if there's another event, if not, I was planning on just leaving it white (before I heard about the get-together) and having it as a practice veil so I didn't care if it got snagged, so I'll just consider it a learning experience!
