At 7pm I suddenly decided that I should ring in the new year with a clean office. So I furiously cleaned for about an hour, and now I'm procrastinating. I did get the gift-wrapping stuff put away, though, so that's a win. Still a really, really, really long way to go...
Year End Meme
1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
Write "2011" on all the checks I wrote. Oh, and took a road trip and saw the world's largest ball of twine. Woot!
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't know if I did last year, I don't usually, but I'm trying out this "goal" thing this year. We'll see.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Thankfully, no, that would be creepy to see (yes, I'm taking the 'closely' to mean... you get it.).
4. Did anyone close to you die?
See question #3.
5. What countries did you visit?
Parts of middle-of-nowhere Kansas may seem like a whole other country, but it's not. So, none.
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
A billion dollars in the bank?
7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Etched is a harsh word. And I'm already losing interest in this meme. Oooooh, sparkly things! Wait, what were you asking?
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Surviving, followed closely by not killing anyone.
9. What was your biggest failure?
In the world of big failures, I don't really think I had any. It's not like I designed a widget in the LHC that failed and resulted in a black hole that sucked in the entire Earth or anything...
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not unless they've finally classified "lazy" as an illness. Which would be awesome. Other than that, bulging disk, allergies, several horrible colds, the usual.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I have no idea. To be honest, I don't remember what all I bought.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Ticker-tape parade celebration? Or just a quiet "yay"? Either way, no idea.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Many, many people.
14. Where did most of your money go?
That would be my house.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
A million stupid little things, I am sure. Hell, getting the pull-tab on a bag of birdseed to zip open properly makes me dance a jig.
16. What song will always remind you of 2011?
Zombie Me.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Neither.
ii. thinner or fatter? Neither
iii. richer or poorer? Neither
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Crafting
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Eating.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Spent it at home.
21. How will you be spending New Years?
Spending it at home. (Oh, yeah, big partier, me!)
22. Did you fall in love in 2011?
I fall in love over and over every day.... *gags* No, still together.
23. How many one-night stands?
None, obviously.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Top Gear, probably.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Not really.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I... have no idea.
27. Favorite film?
Plan 9 From Outer Space (yes, it's old, but I saw it for the first time this year).
28. What did you want and get?
Other than thinner, I pretty much get everything I want.
29. What did you want and not get?
See question 28.
30. What was your favorite live/stage experience of this year?
Didn't go to any.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Hung out with friends, older than I want to be.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Nothing, really. Maybe more travel?
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?
Glitter is creeping into my life. I've discovered the joy of yoga pants. Other than that, librarian-esque as always.
34. What kept you sane?
That's a big assumption, there, meme.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I... don't know?
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Idiocy.
37. Whom did you miss?
No one.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011.
It really, really, really hurts when you step on a toothpick. Also, it's much harder to rip the hair out of a My Little Pony than you would think.
Well, that was a waste of time. I suppose I should get back to cleaning, but the urge has rather passed. Blergh.

no subject
I'm a mess.
We should trade motivational speeches. Except I expect it would just lead to more procrastination.
