So, no more takers on some account creation codes for Dreamwidth? Anyone?

I've decided that, to kick some of my funk, I should make myself post some positive things every day. Today's (thus far) is perhaps a little pathetic, since it's just about TV, but it makes me happy, so there.

New House and Castle on tonight! Squee! There's also some new cake challenges this week on Food Network Challenge and it's Ace of Cakes week. The only down side to watching so much Food channel is that it makes me want to cook... and eat. All the time. I'm hungry now just talking about it!

Plain sandwiches for dinner tonight, though, because I have to hustle off to my belly dancing class tonight. I also ordered some coins this weekend, and hopefully they will arrive this week and I can start sewing myself some costume bits. As soon as I clean out enough of my craft room that I can find my sewing machine, that is...

I feel so out of the loop. I don't know what Dreamwidth is and it's blocked here at work. And I feel like I usually know all the hippest, latest things.

Also, belly dancing is something I've been thinking about doing for a long time. Worth it it to try? You seem to enjoy it. How hard on knees is it?

I think it's totally worth a try! I take it at my gym, but I know the lady that teaches it teaches in other places, including starting a class at Leawood. If you want to come to my gym one day to try it out, I could see if I can get a guest pass.

Yeah, it's tough for me to make the Monday class sometimes. Next Thursday (the 14th?) is great. We can meet at the door to the gym at, say, 6:15? I don't usually go into the locker room and change or anything, I just wear comfy clothes to the gym and drop my bag in the back of the room (it's a small room) but if you want to change there, you can.

Most people dance barefoot, but I'm ughy about it in that room, so I wear light little slip-on beach shoes with rubber soles.

I made a summary about DW here, if you're interested any. It's a little bit different from LJ and its clones; some people like what it's doing, to other people it's not very interesting because all of their needs are met by LJ.

My roommate and I were actually just talking about checking it out, but neither of us really needs another blog to keep up with. It's very similar to LJ, and I really will toss some invites your way if you want some. You may like end up liking it more than LJ and migrating, since I know their policies have irked you in the past.

I was originally going to go with "swirlingdustsparklejetstream" from a Counting Crows song, as most of my usernames are usually lyrics, but my roommate kindly informed me that it sounds dumb (and taken out of context, I kind of see her point). Plus it's already my MSN screenname, not that I'm ever on MSN, but I try not to repeat. So I went with "cellophaneblanket" and now I'm typing up an obnoxiously long LJ entry to explain it.

Dreamwidth is another blogging service, a bit like LJ in some ways, but run a bit differently.

We'll see how it turns out before I commit to showing anyone... O.o It's an experiment, that's for sure. But I ordered 400 of those little coins online, so I have to make a go of it!

I made a biiiig post explaining what DW is. The new features are interesting to some people; others don't feel a need for them. It's definitely not an either-or proposition, though, as DW works hard to be interoperable with LJ.

Heck no. I just naively assumed that IJ would email me about replies I got; either they don't or I just missed it. Invites are irrelevant for people on my flist because I'm just buying paid account time there for them. However, you are not too far behind--open beta only happened Thursday night, so I'm only a few days late! Before that, there weren't many invites to go around since things were still in closed beta.

Anyway, I'm foxfirefey on DW too, so you can find me and subscribe to me there if you like.

Yeah, I think the only way IJ notifies you about new PMs is if you go to the main IJ page (or another page using its style). It's not very good about that.
