I kid you not. But I can't justify spending the money on a new mailbox - I'm hoping the mail truck with actually take it out one of these years (last year we ended up with a deep grove in the grass that stopped just short of it, unfortunately).
We had all sorts of really hideous stuff when we moved in - the back room was SALMON. Ugh. 'Tasteful' is not a word I'd used to describe the previous owner's decorating sense.
My old roommate had a girlfriend that called him once. The conversation went like this.
"Hello?"
"Oh, I didn't think you were home."
"Well then why did you call?"
"Because I drove by your house and the light was on."
Which was especially creepy since we lived back in an apartment complex where you would basically have to park and get out of your car to see if the light was on.
That... is uber-creepy. I think I'd worry about being collateral damage if I had a roommate with a girlfriend like that... especially if/when they broke up... O.o
I actually dislike the color, but also can't decide what color I want it painted (it'll probably be 3-5 years, but we're going to have to have the siding patched up and the house repainted). I like the idea of white and slate blue, but there are several other houses in the neighborhood with that color, so... *shrug* We'll have to see. :D
(personally still would like a little stone English cottage covered in ivy)
You do know where I work, though, and could follow me home. Or, if you paw through my scrapbook there's probably still the map I made that time I was complaining about not driving by any grocery stores, and that'd get you pretty close.
...or, you know, if you wanted to know I'd just tell you. ;) We still need to get together and make some Octopdes!
Nice! Your house is cute, too. And I'm jealous of your lack of snow. I got to walk home from school in -3 weather while Fianna pelted me from behind with snowballs, but it still looks like fall at your place. Yes, I'm bitter.
It's better today, but yesterday it was so cold! I think it got close to single digits overnight, and the wind was horrific. Blew right through anything you were wearing. It's supposed to be in the 40s today, though.
Wait, is that -3 C? Are you one of those freaky Celsius people? ;) Because if so, it was a heck of a lot colder here! Looks can be deceiving... :D
-3 really isn't so bad, it's just all the snow and the incredible...wintery-ness is depressing me. Because it's going to last until April at the very least, and...ugh.
Well, if'n you'd like the car back I suppose you could tow it in the dinghy... on the up side, you'd be able to drive around the islands. :D (not like I totally don't have a complex about taking the car, you know...)
*insert lame joke about the 'crime' scene and the price* *rimshot*
In seriousness, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, though there's a lot of landscaping work that needs to be done next spring.
'Socay, I just feel so guilty because... I did cover it up when they were working on the driveway and needed to get into the garage to finish the edge nicely, I figured you wouldn't appreciate concrete splatters. But it is a little spotty, though I *did* dust it once (that was the weirdest feeling ever).
Great minds think alike! :)
Have a good off-shore sail (though you'll probably be gone by now). I hope it's a lot warmer there than it is here!
I thought really hard about putting a little paw print in it somewhere, but decided against it. I figured it was something that had to stay as neutral as possible, since it had better still be there when we sell the house!

I'm pretty happy with it, honestly - he did some things we didn't talk about, but they make a lot of sense. So it's all good.

And, yeah, the price is what I was referring to.
I'm heading off-shore to Charleston, SC, today and tonight. I should arrive sometime on Monday. Maybe it will be warmer down there.
