So I don't know how to update my word count on the NaNoWriMo website - and it's not just the 'page will not load' server overload thing. I got onto and navigated (slowly, to be sure) the website last night. And up in the upper right-hand corner there's a little box that says 'wordcount' and next to it a button that says 'update':

I would assume (bad, I know) that I should just be able to click it and update my word count. But it's not click-able. And I don't mean the web page is bogging down, there's nothing to click. And I can't find anywhere else on the site to update it! *sigh* I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Oh, well, I guess it'll be like the other years where I just go from 0 to 50,000 on Nov 30th...

You'll catch up. I once didn't start until the middle of the second week. Unfortunately, you really have to be in the mood to write.

[I totally need to read a bunch of the stuff you've written and posted lately - my excuse is that I checked too many books out of the library and had to get them read this week before they were due! I've spent far more time reading this weekend than writing...]

Maybe. I keep getting sidetracked by my non NaNo writing. In that, I've got enough, just not my novel. For that I've only got 600 words.

(don't worry about it. It's all NCIS fic. If that's not your thing, I totally understand. I'm just having insane amounts of fun writing it all.)

I did worry I wouldn't 'get' a lot of it, since I've seen maybe 10 minutes of NCIS in my life. But hey, writing is writing and it's awesome that you're having so much fun with it! I'd say if you write 50,000 words of anything in a month you're a winner!

True. I've been almost on the right track for that for the last two weeks. It's been fun, and promises to continue to be lots of fun for some time.
