I went to copy the pictures I took from my memory card to my computer, and got an error.

They're all gone. All gone. And I can never get them back.

I am very sad right now. Thank you universe, on my birthday, too. You suck.

Now y'all will just have to wait for the shiny, pretty pictures of my new toy, because I already put it away thinking I had good pictures to post. :(

And no one will ever see my cool 'feet-up-on-the-sailboat' picture, which, granted would have been way cooler if the boat had been sailing at the time, but still.

Glad I didn't make a big photo-documentary of my trip.

Ah, but there are pictures of me on the internet - my aunt was there and took pictures and she said she posted them on her MySpace. Now, because MySpace is the devil and I do not go there, I do not know the name, so it would take some mad Internet skillz for you to find them.

...besides, I posted on once.

And these weren't pictures of me, anyway. Okay, my feet, but they weren't even naked - they were in shoes!

Yeah, I hate Vista. I swear that's what's causing it. I've had a lot of issues copying things since I got Vista that I never had with 98. And I don't know there's anything I can do about it, other than lose a batch of pictures now and then.

But, of course, I'm not going to lose pictures of, say, my yarn stash, where I can just walk back into the next room and get more, nooooooo.

I had a similar problem a ways back, and Final Recovery was able to retrieve most of my pictures. http://www.finalrecovery.com. I think the Demo version will at least tell you if there are recoverable files on the card. If you haven't yet formatted the card, don't. Much harder to recover if you have.
