The world is ending.

There was no cherry in my cherry lime-aid from Sonic.

...

Okay, maybe not.

On the up side, the puppers is doing better, though now I don't know if it was really her hip again, or if it was the food (she threw up last night, granted, after we'd tried giving her some aspirin, so I still don't know if it was the food or the aspirin). We'd bought some Nutro Senior for her, because Petco doesn't stock the food we'd switched to. She used to eat the Nutro Lamb and Rice, and was fine, but you never know. Yesterday we went and got some of the non-senior Purina One Lamb and Rice and she seems perkier and happier. I'm just paranoid (with good reason, I think) about dog food now.

Just over a week to NaNo, and I don't know what to write.

Five days until I get on a plane, which is making me far more nervous than the 1,100 mile drive that will follow it, despite the fact that statistics will tell you the latter is far more dangerous. Go figure.

Did I miss something? Where are you going?
Monday, October 20th, 2008 01:59 pm (UTC)
No, you didn't miss anything, I haven't said anything about it yet. I'm flying out to DC and driving back. Fun fun!

Is this related to the car mystery? In that you'll be driving back? Does Mr. Smeddley get to go with you at least?

Yes, yes, no.

He can't really take time off work and we can't abandon the pupster, even for a weekend. And it wouldn't be at all possible to take her with, even if we were willing to pay the outragious airline prices for pets (for $75+ my dog should be able to sit in the seat next to me!).

Are you getting a vehicle from your parents? They have a sailboat, right? Are they planning to stay out on the seven seas for a longer duration?

A lonely road trip then, eh. You'll need to photodocument the experience. At least you like books on tape!

Pretty much, yes. :) It will be a long trip, and, honestly, with the route I take there won't be too much to take pictures of.

Hey look, it's a rolling hill! Look, another rolling hill! And hey, it's a rolling hill!

(the trip is about 18 hours)

Could be worse. ;) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nullarbor_Plain)

It can always be worse, but, yeah - I'll take endless rolling hills and the occasional 'horsey!' to that any day.

"Cow."
"Another cow."

How long will the trip back take?

(I like that the title bar is To engineer is human... - Alert! Alert! Alert! as if engineering is something we have to be on lookout for.)

Google says 18 hours, but it depends on how much I, uh, stretch the speed limit.

You should always be on alert for engineers, we're crafty buggers, we are!
