ABC's
A - Accidents

01. Have you ever been in a car accident?
Yes, a few. One while I was driving. None really serious.

02. Do you have a lot of scars?
Yes. A large one on my back from my surgery, one on my forehead from when I was a flower girl, and tons of other little ones from various stupid things.

03. Have you ever been in a fist fight with someone?
Not that I recall, though my mom tells a story about how I ran down and smacked a girl that was hitting me when I was pretty young.

04. Have you ever seriously hurt anyone by mistake?
Physically? Not that I’m aware of. Unless voodoo dolls really work…
<.<
>.>
(just kidding)

05. Have you ever had stitches?
Yes, see #2

B - Beauty

06. Do you consider yourself beautiful?
No, not really. That’s not to say I think I’m unattractive – just very, very, very normal. So normal and usual, in fact, I am constantly mistaken for other people, and most people swear they’ve met me before. I so should have been a spy. I have the perfect, completely bland looks for it!

07. Are you self conscious of how you look?
No, I’ve given up caring – as long as my skirt’s not tucked up into my underwear, it’s all good.

08. Do you put on a lot of make-up?
No. Most days I don’t wear any at all.

09. Would you ever consider getting plastic surgery?
Only if it was 100% safe, because the operative word in ‘plastic surgery’ is ‘surgery’.

10. What do you think makes a person beautiful?
Blah blah blah, being a nice person inside, blah blah blah. Being physically attractive, what else? That varies from person to person, but beauty isn’t on the inside. Being a nice, decent human being comes from the inside. Being attractive (as in, nice to be around) comes from the inside. Beauty is a hot, toned body.

C - Consequences

11. What was the longest amount of time you've been grounded for?
I… don’t recall ever being grounded?

12. What would you do if you got pregnant, keep it or have an abortion?
I’ve been spayed. The chances of that happening are mighty slim, I’d think. And, as the person before my mentioned, you left out the adoption possibility.

13. Do you ever think about how your actions affect other people?
Of course – butterfly wings and all that.

14. What do you think is the worst punishment someone could give you?
Being fired, perhaps. Or beheading. Probably the beheading. I’d eventually find another job, heads are in short supply.

15. What is one thing you wish you didn't do, just because it wasn't worth it in the end?
Read through the end of Reconstruction. Listened to the rest of The Lovely Bones. I suspect filling out this quiz…

D - Dealing

16. When you are mad at someone, how do you show them?
Depends on who it is. The a-hole in traffic? I just mutter something under my breath and move on. People at work, I usually try to ignore. Random rude strangers? Snark. Sometimes loudly.

17. Name a time when you had to be strong.
Demolishing the basement. I made goodness knows how many trips up and down the stared hauling out debris.

18. Have you ever dealt with a divorce or fighting? Any kind of abuse at home?
The dog scratches the crap out of me. And once launched herself at my face, cracking my nose so hard my eyes watered. I’m also 14” shorter than my husband, so think about where that puts my face relative to his elbow… I also could argue mental abuse from all the pestering I get from both my husband and the dog (they both always want something). But no, things are very peaceful here at Casa de Smeddley.

19. When people at school don't accept you, or have problems with you, how do you react?
I don’t go to school. Thankfully, that part of my life is over!

20. Have you ever lost someone to death? Explain how you got through it.
Grandparents, a father-in-law, that’s about it.

E - Experience

21. Have you ever had a job? Any volunteer jobs?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. How long do you have? Seriously. I’ve had 20-some-odd jobs, some of those with a temp agency (where I worked dozens of places).

22. Do you think that you are sexually experienced, or not at all?
Is this a trick question? Because if I say ‘experienced’, some smart ass will pop up with ‘how can you say that unless you’ve done the flying monkey position under the full moon in a gentle spring shower?’

23. Have you gone through a lot emotionally, or has life been easy thus far?
Life’s been good to me so far… (name that song!)

24. Do you think you are ready to be on your own (have your own home, job, etc.)?
<.<
>.>
Yeah, definitely feeling old now.

25. How old do you act?
My age, mostly.

F - Family

26. Is there anyone in your family you don't talk to? Why?
No, not on purpose.

27. If you had to choose, family or friends?
To do what with? Go to Worlds of Fun? Borrow money from? Live with? And does a spouse count as friend or family? Is family just blood relations? Too ambiguous!

28. Can you tell your parents or one of your parents anything?
Probably, being that I live 1100 miles away – though I still, in my advanced age, steer away from talking about sex. Because that’s just ~*awkward*~.

29. Do you have any siblings? If so, do you ever get jealous of them?
No.

30. How often do you spend 'quality time' with family members?
Again, does a spouse count? Because other than him, not much, given the distance. With him? Plenty. Trust me.

G - Growing

31. How tall are you? How tall do you wish you were?
5’2” – I’m happy enough there.

32. Do you think that you have grown more in the past year than any year before that?

Sideways? Yes.

33. As a person, do you think you are mature for your age or still act childish?
Childish, mostly.

34. Are you scared to think that one day you will turn 30, then 40, then 50?
Yes, I’m terrified of that time almost 4 years ago when I turned 30. Stupid insensitive quiz.

35. Do you believe you still have a lot to learn?
Sure.

H - Hope

36. Love - real or not?
Real.

37. Are you a pessimist or an optimist?
The glass is twice as big as it needs to be! I’m an engineer, what do you think? I’d say I’m practical.

38. Do you believe in fate, that everything happens for a reason, or do you think that our actions lead the way?
I believe we control our own destiny, yes.

I - Issues

41. Do you suffer from depression or constant sadness/loneliness?
No.

42. Do you have any type of disease or disability?
According to Mr. Smeddley I’m unbalanced enough to stay with him, if you count that.

43. Are you currently in a hard relationship or have bad luck with the opposite sex?
No, we’re annoyingly happy.

44. Do you think that you are alone in this world?
Yup, just me six billion other people!

45. How often do you think about death, suicide or running away?
Running away? Are you serious? Now I feel old. The kind of old that thinks about death in a ‘uh-oh, does that mole look funny to you?’ sort of way.

J - Jokes

46. Say a word or phrase that would not be funny to anyone but you & one of your friends (an inside joke).
”Wankle Rotary Engine”

47. Are you usually the one making people laugh, or the other way around?
A little of both, I think.

48. Do you cry when you laugh hard?
No, I cough. It’s quite annoying, being that phlegmy.

49. Write down a hilarious moment you had with someone that makes you laugh to this day.:
That’s too much work. Plus, I can’t think of anything off the top of my head. And most of them probably wouldn’t translate well into a story.

50. Do you ever get in trouble for laughing or talking a lot during class?
What is this ‘class’ you speak of?

K - Knowledge

51. The purpose of school:
To teach you things that serve no practical purpose in the real world. Seriously, it would probably benefit more people to have to take a ‘how to balance a checkbook, understanding loans, and the ins and outs of personal finance’ class than it ever will teaching them calculus.

52. Do people refer to you as smart, dumb, or average?
Depends – am I having a conversation about something I know a lot about, or have I just hit myself in the head with a hammer… again?

53. What was the highest grade you have received (full course mark)? And the lowest?
Everything from aa A to an F – I’m well balanced.

54. What was your last average?
I have no bloody idea. That was 13 years ago.

55. What do you find the most interesting subject to be (to study or to talk about)?
Epidemiology, forensics, statistics.

L - Love

56. Are you currently in love? If not, have you been before?
If I don’t say yes I’m gonna be in trouble… ;) But of course.

57. Do people around you show you a lot of love (tell you they love you, hug you, kiss you, etc.)?
Depends on if they want something… ;p

58. Is love worth it?
Worth what? Minimum wage? A limb? Having to share the remote?

59. Do you hate it when girls in their young teenage years say they 'love' someone that they've been dating for a few months?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. *snorffle* My boss and I were once in a DQ (he had a sudden craving for a Mr. Misty) and these teenagers in front of us were all ‘OMG! Did you hear X and Y broke up? *blah blah blah* They’d been together… *dramatic pause* for six weeks!’ We looked at each other and just about died laughing. Because really – six whole weeks? Wow.

60. Does it take a lot for you to say you love someone, or is it just a word?
Evidently the going price is chocolate chip cookies.

M - Money

61. Do you believe that money makes the world go round?
Yup. *insert Monty Python’s Money song*

62. Is your family on the poor side, average, or above average when it comes to money?
Average.

63. Are you saving up for college/university, or planning to?
Uh… I’m paying of a basement renovation and saving up for a porch...

64. Would you rather win millions of dollars & be set for life, or find the perfect person to marry & start a family with?
Since I’m already married (no thanks on the ‘start a family’ part) I’ll totally take the money.

65. On a scale of 1-10, how important is money to you?
11.

N - Naughty

66. Are you a virgin?
Yeah… no.

67. What do you think about doing sexual things with someone you're not going out with?
If people want to have one-night stands and just have fun more power to them. For me, that’d be cheating on my hubby and that’s not happening. Ever.

68. Do you know anybody you consider a 'slut'? What makes you say that?
No, I don’t care that much about what people do in the bedroom, or in a car, or in a stairwell, elevator…

69. If you could, would you erase some things you did in the past or make it so you did more? Or are you okay with everything you have done?
I’m okay.

70. Do you consider yourself more nice or more naughty?
I don’t know. But I do know that I will give out 40 snerfflebarglast points to anyone who responds to this post and uses the word ‘rutabaga’ in a sentence to show you’ve read it.

O - Openness

71. How long does it take for you to open up to someone? Seconds or years?
Never - I like my internal organs nicely sealed up inside.

72. What does it take for you to fully trust someone?
Tons. Of chocolate.

73. Are you generally untrusting towards people because of past experiences, or any other reason?
People are, by nature, rather untrustworthy, I think.

74. When are you comfortable with someone sexually?
The defining moment is probably walking between them and the TV (during a good show) naked.

75. When it comes to parents and close friends, what's the limit of what you can tell them?
Depends on who you’re talking about.

P - Positive

76. Have you ever had an experience with someone that didn't necessarily end positively?
What the hell kind of question is that? (left from pervious survey-taker, because I concur)

77. Do you agree with the saying: better to have loved and lost than not have loved at all?
Possibly.

78. Are you more optimistic or pessimistic? What do you try to be?
Wait, didn’t we already have this question? I’m sure we did, because I pulled out the trite engineer joke.

79. Do you agree that something good can come out of everything?
No.

80. Have you ever had a time where something really bad happened, but something really good happened because of it? If so, please explain what it was.:
Not that I can recall. (I don’t remember, my brain’s in a blender, it’s jello!)

Q - Questions

81. When faced with a problem, do you ask for help or try to figure it out yourself?
Again, it depends on what it is. Can’t get a couch up the stairs? Ask for help. Can’t get the last piece of chopped-up corpse to fully dissolve int eh acid? Try to work it out on my own.

82. Do you often question the world and how we came about?
I try not to. But I heard I good one last night on Not Going Out (paraphrasing): “Why are we here? How did we get here? And why didn’t we buy that GPS?”

83. Do you think the government is truthful? If you could ask the president one question, what would it be?
More so than most people probably do, but then, I also think there are things that not everyone needs to know. You know, like troop movements.

84. When someone does something wrong to you, do you confront them and ask them why they did it or just let it go?
What is with these questions? Every one is ‘it depends’. If someone cuts me off in traffic, I let it go. If someone stabs me, I’ll probably shoot them. It’s all a matter of degree.

85. What is one unsolved mystery about the world that you want answers to?
If you try to fail, and succeed, what have you done?

R - Respect

86. How do you show respect?
Bust out in your best Aretha Franklin imitation? I don’t know, what the hell kind of question is that?

87. What can someone do for you to lose all respect for them?
Oh, plenty of things.

88. Do you respect your teachers, parents, and other authority figures?
Not automatically.

89. When you are disrespectful to your parents, what is the punishment?
*sigh* I feel old again. Just as I was starting to forget. Ah, well, give it a moment and the old age memory deficiency will kick in again… hey, is that a castle?

90. If someone is mean to you, are you mean back or do you kill them with kindness?
Kill them. Not with kindness, just the killing.

S - School

91. If you are still in school, what grade will you be going into?
Yeah, there’s that feeling again.

92. When will you graduate high school/college?
Oh, this is just a clever ploy to find out how old I am… wait, I guess I already said.

93. After high school, what did you do/are you planning to do?
I wanted to become a gypsy and roam the countryside conning people, but there wasn’t a decent dental plan. So I went to school to get a degree in engineering.

94. Do you like or hate school? What do you like/hate about it?
Oh, I adored taking 5-6 classes and working 20-30 hours per week at crappy minimum wage jobs. What’s not to love?

95. Have you ever been suspended, expelled, or dropped out of school?
I was once kicked out of a Tai Chi class.

T - Temptation

96. Have you ever done something wrong, knowing it was wrong, because something inside of you said it was okay?
If something inside me says its okay, is it really wrong?

97. Has anyone ever pressured you to smoke or drink? Did you do it?
No, but yes.

98. Did you ever cheat on someone? Why did you do it?
Yes. Sort of. But yes. Because Mr. Smeddley was that hot! ;)

99. Did you ever want to do something sexual with someone you didn't really know or love? What did you end up doing?
Want to? Sure. Who hasn’t had the random fantasy about hot, sexy strangers? I haven’t done anything about it, though, because I’m that kind of person.

100. Do you give in to temptation easily, or are you more independent and strong willed?
Depends on the temptation. I’m pretty weak when it comes to doughnuts.

U - Unique

101. Would you rather blend in with the crowd or stand out?

Blend in.

102. Do you do a lot of things because your friends are doing it?
No, or I’d have kids.

103. Do you follow trends, wear whatever you want, or wear really unique pieces?
I wear whatever’s comfortable and clean.

104. Do you give in easily to peer pressure? Do you do things such as smoke, drink, or have casual sex?
No.

105. What makes you different from people your age?
I have no children.

V - Value

106. What's the most expensive thing in your room?
Me.

107. What's more valuable: your life or the lives of your loved ones? Would you sacrifice your life for other people?
What are the odds? Am I facing certain death for only a 10% chance of saving a loved one? Or am I faced with a 10% probability of dying while certainly saving their life?

108. What is something you value not because it cost a lot, but because it means a lot to you?
My dog.

109. If there was a fire in your house/apartment, what is the first thing you would grab?
My dog.

110. Do you think past memories and experiences are more valuable than what could possibly happen in the future?
Are you saying there’s some way I can choose between them?

W - Wishes

111. If you had three wishes, what would they be?
I’d probably want a look at the fine print – nothing comes for free.

112. Would you rather wish yourself to be happy, or your loved ones?
Them, because them being happy would make me happy (awwwww…).

113. Do you believe that wishes come true if you really believe in them?

No.

114. Have you ever had a wish come true? If so, what was that wish?
I wish this survey would end. *looks* Nope, still going on.

115. Do you find wishing for things a waste of time because everything that's meant to happen, will happen?
No, it’s a waste of time because sitting on your butt wishing is pointless when you could be out there making something happen.

X – Xanga – hey look, a whole section I can skip!

116. Name all your Xanga's here.

117. Name everything you post on your Xanga.

118. How often do you update, check your subscribers/comments, and change your layout?

119. How many subscribers and subscriptions do you have?

120. The greatest thing about Xanga?

Y - You

121. Are you more independent or social?
Independent, except when I’m feeling social.

122. What is something that makes you very mad when you see it?
Stupidity.

123. Do you think that you have potential to do great things?
I have lots of potential… energy. I simply decided to store it. *nods* I’m not fat, I’m well endowed with potential engery.

125. Do you think people are generally good?
No.

Z - Zest

126. Are you currently happy with your life? Why or why not?
Yes, what’s not to like?

127. Are you more outgoing, ready for anything, or boring and shy?

Outgoing, obnoxious, it’s a toss-up.

128. When change occurs, do you get scared or are you excited for it?
I like change. It’s inevitable. Except from a vending machine.

129. Do you like to try new things, meet new people?
Yes.

130. What is the most motivational thing in the world?
A sharp kick in the ass.

Oh thank goodness it’s OVER!

Off to watch my team get their asses kicked again a baseball game in the heat!

¿WUT?

you just wrote a book, btw
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 11:30 pm (UTC)
Ha! I know. Might be the most boring book in history, though. :/
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 05:51 pm (UTC)
I was up until 4 a.m. filling this stupid thing out. Why? I don't know. It was there.
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 11:31 pm (UTC)
By the time I realized how long it had taken me I was half-way through. Then it seemed silly to quit, thereby admitting I'd already wasted the time on something. SO I... decided to waste even more time and at least complete it!
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 06:12 pm (UTC)
You know, I don't think I've ever seen a rutabaga in person. I don't even know what they look like. I'm going to guess eggplant-y. :P

HAHAHAHA your answer to 71 made me burst out into laughter. :D
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 11:32 pm (UTC)
I tried to be somewhat humorous, but some of these questions! I mean... *shakes head*

I think it's more radish-like, honestly. I've seen rhubarb at the grocery store, not sure about rutabaga.
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 06:37 pm (UTC)
I had no idea that rutabaga was another word for swede until I googled it!
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 11:33 pm (UTC)
Is it? Wow, learn something new every day!
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 10:12 pm (UTC)
Do you know what the difference between a turnip and a rutabaga is?
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 11:33 pm (UTC)
No, I don't, actually. But then my veggie knowledge (is it a veggie? Or is it a tuber?) is woefully inadequate.
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 11:41 pm (UTC)
There are no words to describe the utter waste that this meme represents... Well, maybe one, "RUTABAGA"
Thursday, July 24th, 2008 01:55 pm (UTC)
...and yet you read it! :P
Thursday, July 24th, 2008 02:09 am (UTC)
RUTA.....buga

how did you get kicked out of a tai chi class? "you must be this chilled to stay"?
Thursday, July 24th, 2008 01:56 pm (UTC)
I was taking it with a friend and it was the last day of the class, the instructor had taught us like four moves, and we were bored. So we started talking, got yelled at, and were told to leave. Bah.
Monday, July 28th, 2008 12:37 am (UTC)
I haven't even hardly begun to read all this, but as for everyone thinking they've already met you and being a spy... I'm the inverse, I can 'meet' people several times, and they see me again, and re-introduce themselves, because they don't remember/recognize me. It used to hurt my feelings, but it happens so consistently, that I just laugh now. I simply don't leave an impression at all!
