There are days I feel pretty smart

This is not one of them.

For starters, I'm up another 2 skeins of yarn. But they had these awesome wool/cotton blend balls in a silvery blue on sale for $4 each. How could I not?

For another, only I would be dumb enough to decide to walk to JoAnn today for lunch. Yes, it's only 1.5 miles and it's only uphill half the way, and it was only 80 degrees... but that 75% humidity really made it. Plus the sun deciding to peek out from behind the clouds. Yay. I'm sure my co-workers appreciate the sweaty mess I am now.

On the up side, I've racked up 10,800 steps already today.

Hey, go you! it's only 1.5 miles? Is that round-trip? I'd think it'd be farther away than .75 miles.

No, you're right, it's 1.5 miles one way. So I walked 3 miles. *pant pant pant* And I thought that hill was much steeper than it was - when you're walking it seems like it's a billion percent grade, but it's only a bit over 6%. :/

Yeah, I managed to bury and forget my parking permit renewal, and when I came back from vacation, no longer have a place to park. I unearthed it and sent it in, and await new tags, but in the meanwhile, need to park elsewhere. Logic would say to park in the student commuter lot and take the free bus shuttle, but the dog has been very sick, so I'm keeping her with me during the day to hand feed her every hour, so I can't take her on the bus. Soooo, that means parking in the hourly ramp ($8/day), or parking at a nearby park and walking 25 minutes to and through campus. I chose the ramp yesterday, as I had to bring in her crate and bed, but walked it today, which is all very pleasant the first 10 minutes, and then the humidity makes every inch of my skin just clammy with sweat.

Oh, and don't even get me started on walking through parking lots! I went through a few to take a more direct route, but I swear it's 10 degrees hotter on the asphalt!

Poor puppy! I wish I could take my dog to work... or not, I'd never get anything done!
