...of drunken sports fans. At the game today I was crocheting (so as to distract myself from the pain of the game and too keep my hands too busy to throttle any of the opposing team's fans) and about the fifth inning I hear the guy behind me talking to his friend (presumably about me, as no one else was knitting or crocheting, and I've found most people default to 'knitting' if they don't know the difference):
"That thing she's knitting is getting bigger!"
...
...
So many mocking, sarcastic things I could say, so little time.

Oh, that's priceless. Isn't that what they're supposed to do, get bigger?
Somehow, I find it very amusing that they'd been watching you/were aware of you for long enough to see it grow.

Oh, and on the way out of the game (we left early) a guy about five rows back at the aisle looked at me and said, "So, what did you make today?"
Am I that obvious? Is it that strange to bring knitting/crocheting to a ballgame?!

That is funny. I don't think you're being obvious -- more like most people don't do that sort of thing any more. My mum always gets looks and questions for her weaving and crocheting.
That reminds me, though. I was wondering if you knew where I could find some crocheting patterns for doggy sweaters. My mum is intent on making our dog some things this year, but doesn't know where to find patterns. I told her I'd ask my crafty friend if she knew ;)
