Few other things I forgot to mention, getting all caught up in my math (and the letdown of the car thing - on that note, a co-worker has offered to carpool, but I don't know if I can do that. Sure, at a certain price, but... FYI, it's PSG that lives near me. O.o) in my last post.

1. I need to renew my paid account. This is a reminder for me, since I don't want to lose post-by-e-mail. I'm still waffling on the extra userpics - 30-some should be enough, I think.

2. Amazon is annoying me. I put in reviews and whatnot to get recommendations, because, occasionally, it will say, 'hey, people who liked what you liked also like this author, try them!' and I do, and sometimes it's good. But seriously, two problems with your system: One, for the love of dog, if I rate something 1 star don't recommend stuff based off of that. Really. Two, don't just give me a list of books by the same author. Duh, I know about them, I read book one in the series, I'm not such an idiot I don't know there's more (this does not apply to pre-order items). Three (okay, three problems): if I say I own the ten-season box set of Stargate, why do you recommend each season individually - in regular boxes and the thin boxes?! I. OWN. ALL. THE. SEASONS. Why do I want another copy? Or another two copies?!

3. Evidently Janny Wurts only released the last book in a series in the UK. Which means I'll have to order it from Amazon.uk, and it's 9 pounds for a paperback. That's $17.50 to me, plus who knows how much shipping. Grrrrrr. I haven't even read past the first three in the series, but Mr. Smeddley toughed it out and deserves to be able to finish it.

4. We spent most of the weekend cleaning the basement, which means I should be able to post pictures if I take them soon. Just a few extra things to pick up and it'll be good.

5. I forgot to read my book for my book club tonight. Luckily, it's only 200 pages so between lunch and the time I have before my book club I should be able to get it finished. OR maybe I'll hate it and be able to stop 50 pages in. :)

6. I got up early this morning - early enough to make Mr. Smeddley two cups of mocha cappuccino (one for at home and one to go - he leaves at 6), make myself one, eat a bowl of cereal, and take a shower. And yet, despite getting up at quarter to six and not accomplishing much, I was still 5 minutes late to work. Go figure. I think there's a hole in the time-space continuum between my house and work. *nods* Only reasonable explanation.

Re: 3

I can buy you that book in return for the lovely Octo, if you'd like.

That would be so incredibly awesome, and would bump you to the top of the list of any future cool craft project give-aways! :D

What's the title of the book?

Oh, right, that would be helpful, wouldn't it? (My brain is cottage cheese today, I swear)

The Alliance of Light: Stormed Fortress Bk. 5 (Wars of Light and Shadow) by Janny Wurts
This link (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alliance-Light-Stormed-Fortress-Shadow/dp/0007217803) may or may not work, I had to type it in by hand. It's temporarily out of stock on-line, but if y'all have the used bookstores and the billion other bookstores we have, it's probably bumping about somewhere!

Hmm. Oddly, our two big chains are saying it's not out til November this year, despite amazon.co.uk and the publisher's website suggesting it's available.

I can keep an eye out for its re-emergence or emergence into availability, and will snap it up for you when I can.

They did kinda the same thing with a video game here - Best Buy was showing it as available, and everyone else had different (later) release dates. Goodness knows!

But whenever, you're a saint. :D

I hate it when Amazon recommends books I already own other editions of (this happens a lot with Shakespeare). I always check "I own this" even though I feel like I'm lying because actually I own a different version.

I know! I don't want to check 'not interested' because I don't want it to discount other similar things (since I own another version and like it) but at the same time it now looks like I own multiple copies of the same thing.

Something tells me I might be over-thinking this a hair... ;)

And in regards to the 'w' you gave me for the music meme, I'm still thinking. >:/ It's turning out to be a tought letter, though I didn't think it would be. I can think of plenty of songs that start with 'w', but not many I really like...
