....had a productive start to my vacation if it wasn't for the storm. Sure, it disrupted my sleep a little, being all loud and thundery at 4 am. But that wasn't such a big deal, other than a shivery dog crawling up towards the head of the bed and taking over. I can sleep through that, I'm used to it.
I'm also used to the fact that because I'm allergic to dogs, when she sleeps closer to the head of the bed (and/or when I haven't washed the sheets in the last five days) I wake up stuffy and with a headache. But there's medication for that, and it seems to (finally) be working.
It's because the storm came back around 11:30, after I'd been up a few hours (reading all about the advisory board elections and generally putzing about, trying to shake my headache). At which point the dog attempted to scale me like a rock wall every time I moved (note to self: she needs a vet appointment to get those nails trimmed). The only way to quite her was to go back to bed. And there was a travesty of a baseball game on. And... I fell back asleep. As I always do in that situation.
So it's now 3:30 and I have done nada. Zip. Zilch. Ah well, maybe I needed a day off?
Have a picture of the 20-some odd cranes I've so far folded:

Later, perhaps, a picture of my office floor. Or lack thereof (I so don't want to post a before picture without an after picture, because, oh my god, it's BAD).

Bad movie idea #867362: city is attacked by a swarm of origami cranes. There is mass hysteria and many paper cuts until if finally rains and they are reduced to pulp (because horror movie characters are always too stupid to do something like turn a hose on them).

Spending the day in bed during a storm, sounds quite ideal actually.
