A suggestion for what to call the husband in my blog:

"Lord and Master"

Three guesses as to who suggested that... (and while he has no claim to the title 'lord', he is, technically, a 'master' by education)

I'm leaning towards Mr. Smeddley. It has a nice, old-fashioned feel to it.

I concur. :D

Since you're not in a BDSM relationship (er, as far as I know) I think "Lord and Master" would be misleading.

But I am prejudiced toward "Mr. Smeddley", since I thought of it XD I know a few people at the Long Hair Community who refer to their husbands that way, though I can't actually think of any right now... Oh, I think Koala Kim sometimes calls her husband Mr. Koala.

I think it's bad because it implies that I listen to him. ;)

...and I'm not sure that I could say it with a straight face. Which would ruin the whole effect!

If he has an LJ, why not just refer to him by his LJ username?

Because then it wouldn't be a super-secret identity, would it?

Plus, then she'd need to type the code each time too... I'd think Mr. Smeddley is much easier!

I am very pro-Mr. Smeddley. Because when I was little, I adopted the habit of calling other people's parents by and honorific and then their kid's name. So if I had a friend named Kevin, I called his mom Mrs. Kevin.

I maintain that it saved me the trouble of learning two names for everyone.
