So in a vain attempt to take my mind off of something [livejournal.com profile] penchaft brought up (still trying to supress the urge!), I decided to knit.

After all, it's not like I'm making progress on my yarn stash. As of now, I stand at...

{ (-2)+(+1)+(-1) - pink and purple Bernat Boa Scarf = (-2) } and { (+4)+(-1/2) - pink and black fuzzy yarn I bought when I bought the loom, being made into a scarf = (+3.5) } and { (+5) - sale on some yarn at Michael's that I plan on using for the book of knitted stuffed animals I bought = (+5) } and { (-4) - shawl I just made, sadly, still have a ball left... = (-4) }

For a total of... (-2)+(+3.5)+(+5)+(-4) = +2.5

Yup, I'm totally making progress. :/ I should be chaperoned if I go into a craft store.

Same partly naked (but tastefully draped) model as last time!

It's a triangular shawl with fringe, a simple start with three stitches, knit all rows adding a stitch the the beginning and end of each row. Easy as pie.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a place to lay it all out to take a picture of it, so this is half of it.

Also, the first season of Ugly Betty was great up until the last episode. Damn them and their need for drama! Can't we just have cute, funny shows?!

Gawww-geous! (partial nekkidness, and all.)

Would you like to know what I've made you, dahlink? Or would you prefer to be surprised when you open the box? *insert Final Jeopardy music here*

You know, I think (despite the fact that I'm normally impatient) I'm gonna go with surprised. There's just something about a mystery box that's so much fun! :D

Ha! Okee-dokee. I'll let you know when it's in the mail (sometime this week).

I keep looking at that doggie in your scarf. I just want to SQUEEZE him.

Dog (yup, that's his name!) is very cuddly! When I bought him (at Target) I stuck him in the cart in the kids' seat (little legs sticking out the cart-holes and everything!) while I finished my shopping.

I only got a few strange looks...

Pretty! Very nice.

Yes, stellar progress, LOL.

I know... *heavy sigh*

But hopefully I can crank out some more things with these big needles!

Looks so soft!!

I don't know if it's a sign of my age maturity, or just my evolving sense of style, but I'm loving wraps/shawls/pashminas lately. Or perhaps it's just the dreadful winter we are having!

My hubby said I was a pair of reading glasses away from a full-fledged librarian today... I had the shawl and the bun!

And, yes, it's very soft and floofy!

ha ha! I have to admit I've always been a nerdy, librarian-wanna-be. I had a workstudy job in undergrad working at the public library, and when I found I got the job, I literally said- "Yes! That means I get to dress like a librarian!" and let me tell you, I used that excuse to get more cardigans and A-line, plaid skirts.
