I had to work with what I had on hand (CD-wise) and I wanted to keep it down to about 30 minutes, less than class length. This is what I came up with:
I think I covered quite a bit of ground. There's a lot more I'd like to have added... maybe this will end up being a series. ;) But for now these are all songs I know and love.
- Once Upon a December - Liz Callaway, Anastasia Soundtrack - it's a waltz, I think
- Amazing Scotland - Scotland Rising, Out of the Ashes - Amazing Grace on the bagpipes with an upbeat kick at the end
- One by One - Lebo M, Rhythm of the Pride Lands - inspirational, uprising chorale in... I think Swahili
- Crossfire/Moscow at Midnight - Berliner Philharmonic/Scorpions, Moment of Glory - instrumental with an awesome snare drum and flute part
- Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me) - Disney, The Official Album of Disneyland - yeah... the classic
- Doesn't Matter Anyway - Savatage, Dead Winter Dead - the heavy metal offering, free of any bad words, though it does have a laundry list of munitions
- Enter Sandman - Apocalyptica, Play Metallica on Four Cellos - Metallica. On Cellos. 'Nuff said.
- Exsultatio in Campo - The Ad Hog Camerata, Grunt: Pigorian Chant - remember Gregorian Chant? The monks, the Latin? Yeah, this is that style, only the pigs sing in... what else? Pig Latin!
- Carmina Burana, O Fortuna chorus - Orff: Carmina Burana - why this is always the Satanic Cult music, I don't know. And why I like Operas but not musicals, I don't know.
- A Quake! A Quake! - Animaniacs, Yakko's World - "Mister Richter can't predicter kicking our asphalt"
- The Tale of the Tsar Sultan, Suite 3 (Flight of the Bumble Bee) - Rotterdam Philharmonic, Rimsky-Korsakov Great Orchesteral Works - yeah, I'd like to see her move that fast...
I think I covered quite a bit of ground. There's a lot more I'd like to have added... maybe this will end up being a series. ;) But for now these are all songs I know and love.
