Man, they've dwindled to nothing on their redemptions. Pretty much just magazines now, though I had to chuckle the last time I saw the Firefly jump drive - I ordered it at 900 points, next time it was 1800...
Last month I turned in some points for 6 issues of ReadyMade, because I'd heard good things and their website seemed interesting. But I got the magazine and I really didn't like it. There was one semi-interesting craft project, the rest of the magazine was just filler crap (in my perhaps not-so-humble opinion).
A couple of years ago I turned in points for three subscriptions: Redbook, Good Housekeeping, and House Beautiful. I hated House Beautiful, it was a waste of a magazine (in my, as before noted, not-so-humble opinion). Just pictures of show homes, no real practical information. Good Housekeeping and Redbook both had good projects and recipes, but the heavy-on-the-parenting and really smarmy (and sometimes fear-mongering) stories bug me.
So, what magazine should I get? I have 480 points, and the available subscriptions are (If any of you have gotten them before, let me know what they're like!):
* Redbook, 85 points
* Good Housekeeping, Better Homes and Gardens, Seventeen, Ladies Home Journal, Parents, Traditional Home, Fitness, 114 points
* Marie Clair, Esquire, Harper's Bazaar, 115 points
* Wired, Details, Country Living, Teen Vogue, Popular Mechanics, House Beautiful, 142 points
* Smart Money, 158 points
* GQ, Conde Nast Traveler, Lucky, Cookie, Self, Town and Country, Glamour, Allure, Body & Soul, Everyday Food, 172 points
* Entertainment Weekly, 178 points
* Golf Digest, 214 points
* Bon Appetit, Cosmo, Veranda, 215 points
* Martha Stewart Weddings, Heart Healthy Living, 230 points
* W, 242 points
* O, 257 points
Bonus points for the person who points out the least likely combination for me! :P
