It takes me awhile to switch gears from sports season to sports season. Baseball and football and college basketball (the sports I watch the most) are very different. You have to be in the right mood. And, despite the hilarity of the Netherlands beating the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic, I haven't been feeling it. Until I read this (it's an old story, but a good one):

ESPN's Page 2: Basebrawls

I remember going to one game where a player (I want to say it was the catcher Mike DiFelice, but I could be wrong) went on a rampage and threw everything out of the dugout - bats, gloves, the Gatorade cooler, the trash cans... I don't even remember what it was about, but he was pissed. The Royals, as usual, were on a long losing streak.

The next day (watching it on TV, even I'm not enough of a masochist to go to games two days in a row) they had him 'tied up' in the dugout, and everyone was laughing. And they finally won! Humor - especially after the occasional harmless venting - makes everything better.
