smeddley: (Burnout)
Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008 08:18 am
I have been 'randomly selected' to participate in Amazon's Round 6 - the one where I could conceivably get a KitchenAid mixer for $70. The kicker? It's tomorrow, and I'm signed up to be in a conference all tomorrow. ARRRRGGGHHHH! And the KU campus does not have free wifi for non-students. I is a sad, sad, sad, sad camper.

I didn't read my e-mail carefully enough, but the one someone posted on the Amazon discussion board read: "Good news -- you've been randomly selected to participate in the race to buy for Round 6: Go Crazy of Amazon Customers Vote! The buying period will start on Thursday, December 4 at 6:30 a.m. Pacific time." So I suppose I can go check into the conference, then run to a coffee shop (I'll need the decent coffee, anyway) and hop on the internet by 8:30, and be back at the conference for the start at 9. Still, it would have been so much easier if I hadn't decided I wanted to go, or if it had been on a different day when Mr. Smeddley would have been home to do it.

AAARRRGGGHHH!

(not that I'd probably get one, anyway, they only have a few, and I was under the impression that they hadn't given us an exact start time to the buying, and I'd have to keep checking all day, which wouldn't normally be a problem at work... though re-reading that, it could mean exactly that, since 'buying period' doesn't mean that you get to get it right then, I suppose...)
