Internet connection at home down again this morning. I wonder if the 'hibernating' on my computer is messing it up, and if I should start turning it off? Or maybe Comcast is just being ~*comcastic*~.

They've stopped making the Hercules series on DVD, and I'm two seasons short. THIS is why we buy things right away instead of waiting. Grrrrr. Now I have to find used copies somewhere. I'd also like to find a copy of Relic Hunter on DVD, but the only used copies of that I've seen are $90, and no way am I paying that. Makes me think I should buy some used copies now, when it's *just* out of print, rather than wait.

There's going to be a third Librarian movie! (sadly, the last, they say) Yes, they're cheesy and stupid. But seriously, look up. Relic Hunter and Hercules are not exactly deep, what did you expect?

I'm doing my part for economic stimulus, I ordered $50 from Oriental Trading Company, part candy and a big part duckies. I... just... can't... stop.

I feel really bad about the Snerffle prizes. They're all in various stages of 'part done' and some are even already in boxes, but I just haven't had the motivation to buckle down and get them done. And I wanted to send them all out at once, I don't know why. Y'all need to start pestering me, because it seems that's the only way I get things done. Everyone's getting a little something extra for being patient, though! That's gotta count for something, right? Three guesses as to what it might be...

Overall it was not a bad sports weekend, but I'm going to miss baseball. I will not, however, miss the political commercials. I've taken to watching just about everything recorded, so I can fast-forward through all of the commercials, but you just can't do that with sports. Well, you can, but it's not the same as it being live. Also, I've settled on Rudolph (the red-nosed reindeer) as my presidential candidate. If anyone can think of any reasons he's unsuitable, let me know. Otherwise, he gets my write-in vote. Or I might just vote for the Libertarian candidate (the party I actually identify with) if he's on our ballot (would that still qualify me for the 'please DIE!' comments I see from so many Democrats? Seriously, I can't even get away from that hostility and hatred on fandom/wank/secret sites any more!).

The library opens at its temporary site today, and though I have books to return, I plan to use my lunch hour to visit Half-Price books and look for a copy of Hercules (season 5 and 6) before I order them from an Amazon seller. Bah! I'll have to drop my stuff that's due at the other library on my way home.

I also have to call the gas company (AGAIN) to check on the status of getting my above-ground temporary (going on a year) gas line replaced with a permanent, buried one. I love talking to the automated systems! Makes me feel... well, like an idiot, really. What was wrong with the old 'press one for...' system?

We are the 'highest priority' for the gas company right now. They promise to get to us by the end of the week.

...

I'm not holding my breath.

In other news, I bought a crochet-a-day calendar at Half Price Books (no Hercules, alas). Anybody want all the baby patterns out of it? Of course I've already looked all the way through it! And no, I don't feel the need to hold on to it and have the 'correct' page showing every day, since my current Origami-day calendar is often a month or so off. With Outlook, who needs a desk calendar?

So, anyone? Otherwise I'll offer them up at [livejournal.com profile] crochetcrochet tonight.
