...since having this blog

* Choking on the juice from a grape
* Being electrocuted
* Gas leak

Yup, the pipe coming into the house had settled, and since the gas line was done incorrectly it separated inside the house. We now need to have a plumber come in and fix the gas line, after which the gas company will come out and re-connect our gas line (it's capped outside right now). The two burning (no pun intended) questions: how much, and how long? How much money will it cost, and how long will it take to fix?

I'm going to sleep for a little bit now. Nothing like a little middle-of-the-night near-death experience to tucker you out!

Don't forget to CLAIM YOUR SNERFFLEBARGLAST PRIZES by Friday! Free stuff, people!

In other news, this is what I did today:

* Called about the flooring for the bathroom downstairs. We'd gotten a receipt from Home Depot in the mail that seemed to indicate a refund, and I was confused because they didn't call to say it wasn't going to come in. Turns out the 'refund' was for $.07, because the flooring only comes in 12' rolls and we'd needed a 6'x5' section, but they're going to give us the 12'x5' section at a reduced cost, which turns out to be $.07 less that what we paid. I'm confused, but if I understand correctly I'm now getting twice the floor for $.07 less. Which I don't need, but maybe I'll use it to do my laundry room. It needs something.

* Called about the back door. Lowes was supposed to have an installer call us to measure, but we never heard from them. An installer called back this evening to schedule, and adamantly stressed they were not the original installers that have been ignoring us for over a week, and they'll be out Thursday to take the measurements and make sure the door we like will work.

* Renewed our car tags and took the finance company off the Hyundai's title at the DMV. That's an hour and a half of my life I'll never get back... Also, I forgot my book so I ended up writing some Really Bad Poems on the back of an envelope. I'll probably tweak them a bit and post them tomorrow. Two each for [livejournal.com profile] revoked_soul and [livejournal.com profile] penchaft. I also got gas in the car on the way, I was sucking fumes. Sadly, there was not a convenient Iffy Lube, so I still need to get the oil changed.

* Called and got two estimates for the gas plumbing work. $275 and $340. We're going with the $275 not only because it's cheaper, but it's the company that did the plumbing for the bathroom downstairs, and they seem to do good work. And they said they'd be here tomorrow. Yay!

* Took the dog to the vet, got her nails trimmed and a steroid shot for her itchies. Now maybe we'll be able to sleep without her scratching like mad all night!

* Took a nap. Read. Made some icons.

* Deleted almost 200 messages from my e-mail. Still have 215 to go! But most of those have things I need to copy/save somewhere.

All in all, I could have done more, but it was a pretty productive day off. Tomorrow I'm going to have to work extra hard at work to make up for the missed time. *sigh* I hate being busy!
