Fuzzy veins gripping
cholesterol like velcro
glad there is not much

Evidently, two years ago, when I had my last check-up, there was a slightly elevated number. It started with a C, and based on my surfing I'm going to guess it was C-Reactive Protiens, a sign of inflammation of the blood vessels. It's an indicator for coronary disease, I guess. Here's the kicker - they never told me. So I guess it wasn't that bad, or that high, or whatever. Plus, my cholesterol and blood pressure are all fine (despite being a porker).

Speaking of porkiness, the pain in the ankle is most likely a tendon that is rubbing/stretching. Perhaps the fact that I've been wearing high heels (not just pumps) lately has caused some shortening. Stretching is going to have to become more prevelant in my life. I wish I liked yoga.

So they drew more blood and I'm sure I'll have to call to get the results, because it's not like they ever tell me anything. Or, I'm thinking about doing the allergy testing/shots, so I could find out then. Man, it'd be nice not to be sniffly all the time!

So am I to infer that there was a doctor's appointment today and everything turned out OK, despite a slight anomaly last time? Nice of them to let you know about that, by the way. Very professional. Heh.

What is it about yoga that you don't like?

Oh, the appointment was for my yearly well-woman exam that I make it to every 2-3 years (yeah, I get yelled at about that, too). He was telling me that they could do labs, too, if I wanted, though I'd never had anything wrong before (*flips through my chart*) ...except this one slightly high number last time. Um, okay... So I went ahead and had the bloodwork done, since it'd been two years. We'll see how it turns out (though I know my total cholesterol is fine because the Community Blood Center send you that info every time you donate blood).

Mostly I don't like yoga because it's boring. I've never been the medatative type, and I just can't get into all that breathing. I did it a few times at a class at Bally's, when I had a free trial membership, and it was okay, but there's no way I'd pay for a gym membership because I know me, and I'd never go.

This heart attack is brought to you by the letter C and by the number 5(mg/L) or higher...

I should have my blood checked too, but I'm a total wuss when it comes to needles.

C'mon you weenie, you're not going to let a girl trump you, are ya? :P I even watch when they take the blood!

I have no idea what my number was, just that it was 'a tad high'. We'll have to wait for these results...

That's so weird that they never told you! I'd be pissed.

I'm going with the 'it must not have been too serious' attitude. Even after he saw it in the chart he was like, 'so, do you want labs run again?' so obviously it wasn't exactly worrying. At least, I hope!
