There once was a girl out of fuel
who pushed it because she's a fool
this morning was chilly
but now she feels silly
because
1) she can't figure out a way to end this limerick that conveys the appropriate meassage, fact-wise and with humor
and
2) now she has to pump gas in the snow

Hm, good point. I'm pushing it right now. Probably shouldn't, heh. I think I'd much rather pump gas in the snow than run out of gas in the snow somewheres. :D

I always see how far I can push it before I chicken out. I've gotten down to just under half a gallon left at the worst.

Today I had about 0.6 gallons left - enough to go another 12 miles or so!

I'm just jealous that you have snow. I get to walk around in the bitter cold and there's not even anything pretty to look at. *pouts*

There wasn't much (just long enough to make my getting gas and driving miserable) and then it got sunny but was still bitingly cold. Ugh.

"Cuts like a knife" wasn't written about love, it was about wind.

Nature is definitely playing tricks on me. Not half an hour after I left that comment, I was in a class and looked out the window and there were flurries. I was all excited and spent the next twenty minutes completely not paying attention to anything else, but by the time I got out it had stopped. When I got out of my next class it was snowing again and even sticking to the pavement, but after an hour in the library refreshing my inbox hoping against hope that my night class would be cancelled, I went back outside and it was sleeting. I got to walk around in crappy weather and still nothing pretty to look at.

This is definitely one of those be-careful-what-you-wish-for days.

...because pumping gas in the snow just ain't cool.

Too many syllables, but that's the gist of what I was going for! :/ Because it's really, really, really not.
Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 04:11 pm (UTC)
Ouch.

Mother Nature has it in for me. Evidently I've killed one too many plants...

She has to pump gas in the snow.. OOL!

I WIN!!

:D

But seriously. P{umping gas in the snow sucks. I usually shell out the extra nickel a litre and make some monkey do it for me.

They have so many cool made-up sounding names (like 'snain' - yup, snow and rain!) but nothing ool-ish. :(

There are ZERO full-service stations here. I'd totally pay more.

I think you need something about Popeye, the sailorman in there.

Will he pump my gas? I hate pumping gas.

Do not underestimate the power of spinach.

In omelets? Not bad. Not overly fond of it by itself.

Can spinach pump my gas?
Wednesday, February 13th, 2008 02:02 am (UTC)
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF SPINACH
Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 06:02 pm (UTC)
Oh dear!!

But can I say, I'm SOOOO happy to hear that I'm not the only one that finds themselves in this situation?
Wednesday, February 13th, 2008 01:56 am (UTC)
All the time, all the time. I hate pumping gas so much (no real reason, it's not any better in good weather) that I always push it!
Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 08:05 pm (UTC)
Erg. Suck. My sympathies.

Thank you! I'd love a more fuel efficient car... not just to be better for the environment, yada yada yada - but to not have to stop as often!
