The Shrek CD has been found. I repeat, the Shrek CD has been found. It was... with all the other CDs. But today (after my wonderful hubby assembled the CD cabinet we bought from NFM on Friday!) we organized the CDs. They are grouped by genre, the alphabetically, and then chronologically. Weee! Behold:

OoooOOOoooo.

It's either geekiness or OCD at its best! But seriously, when you have that many CDs, you can't find anything unless you organize them.

...wait until I post pictures of my bookshelves, if I ever get those finished...

My parents gave up on cases. All the DVDs and CDs are now in fancy binders whose spines look like law books.

I'm of two minds about that. I mean, it is a lot smaller, but... sometimes I wonder if the sliding in and out of the pockets is more likely to scratch the CDs. My computer disks are like that, but I don't use them nearly as often as I do CDs.

Also, the car (and other rooms in the house, for both CDs and DVDs) - I like to be able to grab a few CD cases and take them with me in the morning, as opposed to flipping through a book, transferring it to a 'car book' and vice versa when I was done.

I loved the cabinet when I saw it and just had to have it! I'm just so happy to have them all organized again. It was driving me crazy looking for them.

It's wonderful. Am jealous.

Just wondering--did you ever get the PotC CD from ages ago? Because I have an extra copy of it ...
Sunday, February 10th, 2008 03:11 am (UTC)
I did not. I still have not used my MyCoke points for anything... and now Pepsi is starting up a program! O.o

Gee, if you're offering... :D I always have ducks to trade... ;)
Sunday, February 10th, 2008 03:14 am (UTC)
Wow. O.o You're racking them up ;)

Sure thing :D Have I told you yet that my roommate, Lauren, collects ducks? Her Mardi Gras ones are still out. What duckies do you have to offer?
Sunday, February 10th, 2008 03:18 am (UTC)
Yeah, I'm up over 700, but they haven't offered anything good in awhile. They had the His Dark Materials trilogy (paperback) but by the time I saw it they were sold out. :(

I HAVE THESE! (http://smeddley.livejournal.com/310107.html)

AWww. I used to have that trilogy. The gremlins currently possess two of them and my roommate the third.

I have the first book and really mean to read it before I see the movie...

Penguin!ducks it shall be! :D

The books really are quite good. I enjoyed them, at least. I still haven't managed to see the movie. Eventually, I figure ...

:D

I'll have to go buy an envelope to send it in this week sometime.

that is a thing of beauty!
Sunday, February 10th, 2008 03:12 am (UTC)
Thank you! :D
Sunday, February 10th, 2008 04:27 am (UTC)
That is a lot of cds.
Sunday, February 10th, 2008 10:22 pm (UTC)
Yup. My hubby used to work in the music section of Barnes and Noble. Plus, we're admittedly hopelessly addicted to books, CDs, and DVDs. Probably because we rarely go out.

I covet your pretty organized media cabinet. I have one CD rack that's overflowing, and whatever I can't cram on there goes in a pile on my desk. It's not pretty.

Ours was looking pretty bad until we organized it yesterday (and I hadn't been able to find the CD I was looking for, despite numerous attempts!). I'm sure once you get a place of your own you'll be able to do the same. I remember college as a series of overflowing plastic milk crates...

Oooh! It's so pretty! Far nicer than my IKEA shelves, haha.

We don't have space for the CD's, so have resorted to binders. Which will be okay once we finally get them organized...

Yeah, I'm iffy on binders (see above) - though I admit it does give a more polished look to a room instead of a billion brightly-colored spines.

Interesting tidbit: I have never been to an IKEA store, nor ever bought any IKEA products.
