I really do feel like reading a romance novel, now

...too bad I really have to finish the book for my mystery book club. And thanks to that post on write_away, I noticed that it had a billion and one 'had's in the first chapter. :/

While making icons for romance_stills, I stumbled upon this list of bad romance metaphors and similes. Undoubtedly it's one of those things that has made the e-mail rounds, but I lost the person who used to forward me all that stuff, so I'm out of the loop.

Anyway, do you think "Home is where your sex toys are" would be too... well, just 'too' for an icon? Maybe for that contest, but probably not in general.

Oh, how painful that list is. It made me wince more than once, and laugh in that pained sort of way, y'know?

Any-hoo, "home is where your sex toys are" is fine, I think. But then, I'm not offended by much and I think it's funny. Do it for the contest at least.

Haven't seen a posting of icons lately ... I really do need to get back into making them, myself. Sigh. There's never enough time or inspiration!

I'm not offended by anything, so I'm a pretty bad barometer. I figured I'd ask more sane people...

I know, I went through a really dry spell. If you don't feel it, it's not worth pushing it. And man, it doesn't seem like it, but those things take time!

Lol, yes. Stuff like that makes you want to see if you can write that badly on purpose, or if it has to come naturally ;)

Yeah, I'm not a very good barometer either. Only certain things offend me, and I don't come across those often in the groups I'm in, if at all.

Yeah. Besides, two of the groups (the nature ones, yeah?) annoyed me for awhile because I never placed at all, and all the icons always seem washed out and the same to me. But that's just me.

I think, in the case of this sort of 'bad writing', there's an awful lot of cleverness involved. And I'm certainly not up for that today! I can barely keep my eyes open to read...

Yeah, I know what you mean about that group, and I think the animal one. It was just so... well, you have to make them in a certain way to win, and I never liked the ones that won. It's one thing not to win yourself (I'm not so full of me I think I should win everything, though now and then is nice...) but to never see any of the other icons you like even win... I quit those after awhile. I'm happy with romance stills and themed icons for now!

Yeah, those two. It's not just me not winning, yeah ... I just don't do washed out and ... drab and boring, imo.

I should stop skimming over the contests and see what's going on ... maybe something will prick my interest. I just haven't been in a very graphics-y mood. Not to mention I was without photoshop for all of break!
