Coming soon to a blog entry near you (by request!): the story of the first time my hubby told me he loved me! Stay tuned for a tale of mystery, intrigue, and a grocery store...
Also, a quick pimp of
aeamek's new community,
theartofspam! Bringing spam messages and semi-appropriate pictures together in hilarious ways since... today!
And finally, more Q&A for me...

1. What's your favourite craft that you do?
Probably crochet, because it's the one I've been doing the longest. As I mentioned before, though, my sewing abilities are far more useful, though it's more of a pain to deal with the sewing machine than to simply pick up a hook and some yarn and go at it. Plus, crochet is portable!
2. What's the craziest thing you've ever done?
I'm boring! I can't think of a single, truly crazy thing I've ever done. Or maybe I just don't think the things I've done are crazy, though others would? Okay, I'll go with climbing over 20 flights of stairs to avoid an elevator. That's probably the weirdest, anyway.
3. What's your favourite texture?
Fur. Preferably on a still-living thing, of course! Nothing beats fuzz therapy from the dog for a bad day. In a pinch the faux fur of a stuffed animal (sorry, Fabricated American) will also do.
4. What's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?
Geez, I don't know. The thing that makes me smile the most is my puppy wagging her tail, so we'll go with that.
5. What's your dream vacation?
I should say going around the world and stopping all the places I'd love to visit, like Ireland and Scotland and England and Australia... but the reality is I'm not overly fond of travel anymore. Moving my house, sure, but not travelling and staying in *shudder* hotels. I hate hotels. They are innately creepy. Plus, I don't like sleeping where other people have... goodness knows what! So what would actually relax me and make me happy is to have a completely renovated, clean house and get to spend a month at home reading, crafting, and cooking with nothing hanging over my head that I had to do.

1. What would make your life, as good as it gets?
More money. I know that seems materialistic and greedy, but it's the only thing I'm unhappy with that I don't have the ability to control. Sure, I could say 'lose weight', but if I really wanted to do that, I could. So it must not be that important to me. Money, however, I do stress over, and if I were out of debt I'd be fine. Otherwise, life is pretty darn peachy.
2. What's the creepiest ghouliest experience you've ever had?
Well, to take the question literally, I've never had a truly ghouly experience - nothing supernatural have ever happened to me. The situations I've felt most uncomfortable in are probably being somewhat disoriented (not quite lost, but not where I wanted to be) in parts of a city I'd rather not frequent.
3. What level, if any, do you get involved in politics? Even neighborhood or office?
I vote, that's about it. I mean, I listen to what's going on, and form opinions, but I'm not active in any political organization - none would have me, anyway!
4. What random acts of kindness, even from your pets or hubby, have happened to you?
People are often nice to me, I don't know if it's because I'm short, chubby, and somewhat cute, if people think I'm nice, or if I just have decent karma. But I recently had someone buy me more paid time on my LJ (yay!) and I tend to have doors held open for me and whatnot.
5. What would you cook without a recipe, like just improvised? (I didn't know you were the martha stewart of engineering! is that mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering?)
I cook sans recipe more than I cook with recipes, the exception to that is baking. I usually follow a recipe fairly closely when I'm making baked goods (pastry items, not like baked chicken) because I'm afraid it won't turn out right otherwise. But when it comes to meat and veggies? I tend to just throw stuff together most of the time. So... probably my most oft-improvised cooking involves chicken. It's very versatile.
I'm a civil engineer. ;) But very few engineers have much of a creative streak, which is why you see fewer crafty and writerly engineers (
triskellion is another rare example).

I don't want to spoil it.
I'm holding my breath, anticipating the **violins playing** curtain rising...
I so wanted to ask you about HIM. Your left leg.

Thanks for the pimp!

BTW, I didn't look through the info, but I'm assuming you'll want NSFW images behind cuts labeled as such? I found an awesome one today, but the pic will have to be somewhat risque to work.

AHEM. AHEM AHEM AHEM.
...What?
I only wanted to see if you were going to shrimp bingo this year. :D

To be fair, I don't usually think of you as an engineer. Hockey comes to mind before engineering! My sincerest apologies, fellow articulate crafty engineer! :D
It depends - if Alysen is still invited (being on maternity leave and all) I will go as her guest. If not, I don't have any other invites, and the City won't pay for me to go, so no. We'll have to see, I think she was going to look into that soon.

I am crafty, but there is one area where my engineer-y nature comes into play - I'm not that creative. Sure, I can execute recipes and patterns and designs and such, but I can't come up with it myself. Oh the shame.
I hope she can come out of maternity leave long enough to bring you! I only get to go through the goodwill of a friend of mine I've known for years. Goodness knows none of the other consultants I work with consider me high enough on the food chain to invite.

I hope so, too. I'm in the same boat - I go because we're friends, not because she really works with me. :) It's good to have consultant friends! Goodness knows us public employees never get to do anything fun.
And we have to have craft/movie night before 2010! That's too long to wait. Of course, you have to do your kitchen floor, first... *pointed look*
