I have 75 things out of my 101. I need some help coming up with the last 26 of them, and that's where you, dear f-list, come in. I have the usual goals of reading, NaNo, crafting, and home improvement - but I can't think of anything else! So help me! Help me come up with some goals - I know there's stuff out there I'm just not thinking of, probably a whole category of stuff I'm forgetting. So lay it on me. And the first suggestion of the first ten people automatically make it on the list! No matter how absurd (though this does not guarentee that I will do them, but you can thwart my success rate if you so choose!)

Don't let Venusians conquer our antelopes.
Friday, January 4th, 2008 03:51 pm (UTC)
Make sure Penny follows her writing to-do list.
Friday, January 4th, 2008 03:52 pm (UTC)
Stare at a traffic light until it changes colour.
Friday, January 4th, 2008 03:53 pm (UTC)
Watch a game of cricket.
Friday, January 4th, 2008 03:55 pm (UTC)
A whole game? That could take FOREVER! :P

Also, your first suggestion is awesome and a great way to pad my success rate (presumably), but I think you probably really want me to put your second one on the list!
Friday, January 4th, 2008 03:56 pm (UTC)
You could watch a Twenty20 match, I guess.
Friday, January 4th, 2008 05:26 pm (UTC)
How about I at least learn the rules of cricket?
Friday, January 4th, 2008 04:29 pm (UTC)
A racoon tail attachment like the Super Mario Bros. 3 racoon suit. Something long enough to swing around when you spin but bulky enough to be noticed.
Friday, January 4th, 2008 05:27 pm (UTC)
Make it, or wear it? I could certainly make it (I actually have quite a bit of furry fabric, for dog toys and beds and such) but I'm not sure I'd get away with wearing it to work!
Friday, January 4th, 2008 04:46 pm (UTC)
How about:
Go to Teri's candle party tonight at 7pm

(alternate version)
Do something fun with Teri sometime.
Friday, January 4th, 2008 05:28 pm (UTC)
*sigh*

If you're forcing me to be social, I guess I can go. So pencil me in! But in return, I get to put 'go to a movie with Teri and mock her - in a friendly, kind way - for crying at odd times'. ;)
Friday, January 4th, 2008 05:39 pm (UTC)
Come for the free food and meet other crafty folks. Bring something to crochet if you like, because nearly everyone else will be knitting or something.

And I'm going to add going to a movie with you and your soon-to-be-damp shoulder to my list.
Friday, January 4th, 2008 05:43 pm (UTC)
Okay, I can do that. I probably won't bring anything to work on, because I don't have anything that doesn't require some concentration that I can lug about (the blanket is probably a wee bit bulky!) but that just means my hands will be free for FOOD! :)

I also need to attend your knitting group so y'all can put my on the right path to, if not 'proper' knitting, at least 'can follow a pattern halfway decently' knitting.
Friday, January 4th, 2008 05:14 pm (UTC)
Make Natasha a Cephalopod in Steelers colors!

MUHAHAHAHA. Mine is an evil laugh! Think of it as a personal challenge. :D
Friday, January 4th, 2008 05:30 pm (UTC)
Be honest, I wouldn't really be making it for you, would I? ;) But you ARE one of the first ten, and since I made the rules... it's on the list. I may curse you and put a pox on your house when my poor hands turn into little crochet-hook-holding claws, but you'll have your Cephalopod... :P
Friday, January 4th, 2008 05:40 pm (UTC)
Heehee! OK, true, it'd be for Ted... who probably wouldn't appreciate it the way *I* would. So instead, you can make one in Blues colors for me! (Royal blue/gold/white) :D

As for your hands, aw! maybe one day we could have a crafty evening, you crocheting, me trying to knit, and watching a movie or something :)

Wouldn't it be totally unfair to have a hockey player with eight legs? Hmmmm, I wonder if I can modify the paper clip/ice skate ornament to fit on his feet... Or would it be every other foot, so four skates and two hockey sticks? (assuming two hands per stick, though with tentacles you might be able to handle it with just one...)

We can craft! I am trying SO HARD every time you post about your craft room not to jump up and down and say 'I'll totally come over and spend a day helping you decorate/organize it!' Because I'm weird that way (see: me painting Alysen's nursery).
Friday, January 4th, 2008 06:57 pm (UTC)
Ha! That'd be so cute! There is a long tradition with octopi and hockey, but it's mainly by Red Wings Fans flinging them onto the ice during the playoffs (stems from years ago, when it took only 8 victories to win the Stanley Cup. Octopi = 8 legs. I think it's disgusting.)

Ha! I could use the help actually! But I need to get rid of the last bit of the home renovation stuff first - so I guess I need to get off my ass and finish putting down that flooring. *sigh* I wish I had money for tile.

What about a photo challenge? Take a photo every day for a week or once an hour during your day from waking up to going back to bed.

Learn a new card game.

Sing outloud while grocery shopping.

Spend an entire day at home without clothes on.

Plan a surprise party for someone (for any reason).

I do have some photography goals listed (mainly going certain places to take some) but I like the idea of a 'photo diary' sort of thing. Like a month where I take a picture a day (of anything relevant to that day) and post it. Hopefully, if I kept them small enough, my f-list wouldn't mind!

Sadly, I can't spend a whole day naked because I do have to walk the dog. But I like the idea of some sort of naked challenge! If I get the dinig rooms drapes done I could bake naked, or something. You know, learn to love my lumpy little body and all that.

Good suggestions!

I tried the photo a day challenge at my last birthday (in April) but only made it to July. It's neat looking back though.

Since this is over 1001 days, what if you picked two dates (one in Spring, one in Autumn, or one/Summer and one/Winter) and take a photo of something specific (your backyard or basement or nightstand) on those two dates over the course of the 1001 days (so you'd have 2 dates each of the 3 years).

You could always be daring and walk the dog just in a trenchcoat ;)

What about keeping a dream journal?

Memorize a favorite poem?
Friday, January 4th, 2008 05:51 pm (UTC)
There's another good idea. Hmmm, I'll have to mull it over, but I'm definitely putting down a photo challenge of some sort. I just have to figure out which would be easiest to accomplish...

I could co commando for a week! Since I wear dresses to work that'd be REALLY daring...

I don't dream much, or at least, I don't remember them often. I don't know why.

Oh, me and memorized poetry! We were required to memorize part of Paul Revere's Ride in fourth grade and TO THIS DAY I can still recite it. Along with half a dozen other poems I memorized about the same time. That is something I'm really good at. I remember song lyrics, catch phrases, jingles, conversations, all sorts of things. Brain like a sponge... except for when it comes to names. Can't remember those to save my life!

I made a 101 list a couple of months ago. I have health stuff, house stuff, writing and reading goals, things related to my kid, things I want to learn about, and a whole category devoted to completely random things I want to do. I never have a problem coming up with stuff...just a problem coming up with remotely reasonable stuff. ;)

My suggestion? Try ten foods that are completely new to you.
Friday, January 4th, 2008 05:47 pm (UTC)
Ooooh, that is a good one! See, that's the sort of thing that, for whatever reason, isn't really surfacing in my mind. *writes it down*
Friday, January 4th, 2008 08:15 pm (UTC)
And the first suggestion of the first ten people automatically make it on the list!
Really?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Try anal sex.

My other suggestions were:
Burn a $5 bill.
Try a month of Tae KwanDo.
Push all of an elevator's buttons and get off on the next floor.
In a drive-though, treat the guy behind you to a free lunch.
Donate blood.

Friday, January 4th, 2008 08:47 pm (UTC)
Of course, I did *also* say that I wouldn't necessarily do it. I could also be catty and say "try?", but I think I'll leave you hanging on that one.

I've done Karate, and I did think about putting 'taking a fitness/self improvment class' on the list.

I donate pretty regularly, though I did already add 'donate as often as possible, at least 12 times' on the list. I only donated blood twice last year. :(

Oh, and as for the elevator thing - I don't ride elevators, so that one's a no-go! Besides, the elevator in our building only has three buttons, so it's not particularly evil.

Kudos on donating... You're a braver person then I, needles and I have a mutual understanding that we don't like each other.
Friday, January 4th, 2008 11:09 pm (UTC)
That's one thing that has never, ever bothered me, and since I'm O+ I figure I should donate as often as possible. I mean, I don't even bruise, so there's no reason not to!

Hmmm, maybe that's where my good karma comes from? I mean, I don't really think twice about doing it (and I don't do it for the free stuff, I rarely even take a t-shirt if it's at a drive), but I guess it is a good thing.
