Today I did something I've been meaning to for AGES and I feel so good about it. I don't know why I was putting it off, if I was worried about how it would go (probably) or just plain lazy. Anyway, I got, uh, 'busy' in the bedroom with a bunch of feathers... and a little bit of... suction.

I finally re-stuffed my pillows! You see, we had these four (two sets of two) feather/down pillows that had seen better days. Despite the fact that I keep pillow covers on them (in addition to pillowcases) they were getting a bit stained (I go to sleep with wet hair most nights, and plus, you know, the drool) and a bit flat, so I combined them into two pillows (obviously, one of each type into the new pillow).

Two of the originals (there were four originals, two of each of these).

Oh, the cruelty! Oh, the Horror!

The guts are everywhere!

Hand full of pillow innards.

Hair full of feathers. Those things were flying EVERYWHERE. Hence the need for the SUCTION. A good vacuuming, and everything was much less... feathery.

The end result - two good as new pillows!

Yay for feather pillows!!

Care to come over and do the same with mine? Did you use one layer or two with the ticking?

Sure, as long as you do the vacuuming! I still have feathers floating about...

I just used one layer, since it was official pillow ticking fabric. It's pretty thick, so I didn't think it should need two. And, luckily, I bought JUST enough for both pillows!
