The good news first! See those boxes? They have [livejournal.com profile] alankria (Diet Coke), [livejournal.com profile] gelsey (White Higgins&Burke), [livejournal.com profile] nakedblueninja (Nestea), [livejournal.com profile] auraesque (Coke), [livejournal.com profile] tarpo (English Breakfast Tea), and [livejournal.com profile] foxfirefey's (Twinkie) names all over them. Only, their real names, not their LJ names. Somehow I think the postal service would frown on that. Anyway, by the time I actually mail them they will be wrapped in white paper. I am always amazed at the things people send, and then are surprised are lost or misdirected! Yeah, if there are 90 million addresses all over the box, or lots of writing, it's going to slow things down! Your address will also be on the box on a sticker and on a slip of paper inside the box. Also, the paper I use to wrap it is plotter paper (you'll probably have some old plans on the back of them, it's my way of recycling!) which is coated with a powdery substance to make it feed better. It's not poison, I'm not trying to kill you. Just so you know.

The bad news... [livejournal.com profile] clare_dragonfly, I have something to send you... sort of. I'm still working on it. It may be a day or two. On the up side, the post office says I have until the 21st. I still owe you a 'handmade' present, though, so I may go with my second idea for Christmas, and just save the other thing for later. I still have a good 10 months on that deadline...

Even more bad news... The Fishbowl Quilt kits ([livejournal.com profile] gelsey, [livejournal.com profile] a_l_p_h_a_b_e_t, and [livejournal.com profile] revoked_soul. I thought I have enough different fabrics (the one I made had 20), but I don't. Therefore, a trip to JoAnn's is in order (awww, darn!). This means those will be delayed another day or two. But I haven't forgotten!

[livejournal.com profile] lyonza, I have your stuff packed up, I just want to make sure that card gets to you first! Let me know!

EVERYONE ELSE: If you requested a card (and a few of you who didn't), it should be in the mail no later than tomorrow. I have a few left to send but the majority went out Friday and today.

YAY packages.

:D

Oh, I got the card and the book thong, btw. I've just been preoccupied and forgot to tell you!
Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 01:08 pm (UTC)
Yay! I was hoping it wouldn't get crushed in the envelope.

You're also getting a card... though yours was one of the last ones to go out. It contains pillows... or towels... ;)

ohmylord, santa's elves need to visit your house!!

i waited in line forever today at the post office but that is nothing compared to all the labors of love in your giftgiving~~

Ho! HO! HO! santa's at smeddley's
Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 01:06 pm (UTC)
I'm not looking forward to the post office, but I do visit a smaller, out-of-the way one. Plus I like to use the automated machines when I can (I don't think I can today, though, with international packages).

Then again, I've always lived far away from relatives, so I'm used to the whole 'mailing stuff' routine. At least these aren't huge or heavy!

foxfirefey's (Twinkie)

wait wat.

Did you want to send it to where I'll be for the next couple of weeks?
Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 08:56 am (UTC)
Has my postcard got there yet?
Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 01:03 pm (UTC)
Sure, if you can get me the address by lunchtime! (It'll still have your other address on the inside, but that's just there for a failsafe, so if the outside gets destroyed they still have something to go on.

E-mail me at michelles at leawood dot org and let me know!
Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 06:40 am (UTC)
Hey, take your time! I got your card today. It is quite entertaining. My dad especially likes it.
Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 01:04 pm (UTC)
:D I take a lot of pride in only sending out 'funny' cards. I scour the stores every year for them...
Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 01:27 am (UTC)
But as it is, I did send you a package today. It's an envelope, you know, the kind with the bubble wrap on the inside? It's a bit beaten up because it's a re-use, Amazon sent me something in it.

Your present isn't fun or fabulous, but you *said* you wanted it, so... there.
Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 03:23 am (UTC)
Yay, more things arriving in the mail from that online friend who likes to send me stuff :-P If I said I wanted it, I probably do!
Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 03:40 am (UTC)
I do come across as kinda weird that way, don't I? :/

Well, *I* think it seems like a boring thing, but *you* had it on your list, so...
Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 03:42 am (UTC)
I'm so intrigued. (I'm not even sure what list you're talking about!) I will be stalking the mail!
Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 03:44 am (UTC)
Your wish list! :D

(oh god I hope it was yours... but it seemed like yours, so I'm 98% percent sure.)
Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 09:53 am (UTC)
Thanks hun, I think it eventually get here. Since some local mail took six weeks to reach me, I'm not going to hold my breath until after New Year. But thanks for sending something :)
Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 01:05 pm (UTC)
Wow. I've had things get to me from the east coast overnight! I know people complain about our postal system, but, honestly, considering what they do they do a pretty good job!
Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 02:48 pm (UTC)
Fly little octo, flyyy across the Atlantic!
Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 01:22 am (UTC)
I could have gotten him there by Christmas, but $37.50 seemed a bit excessive for postage... I saved myself the $33 and just sent him regular mail. I'm guessing he *might* be there by New Year's. :D
Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 08:59 am (UTC)
Yes, $37 is a bit ridiculous for postage. =D Knowing what happens to our postal service around Christmas, I'll expect him after New Year's. That way if he arrives before, it'll be even more awesome.
Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 03:30 pm (UTC)
Wow, you really are like Postal Service Santa. Do you get your own elves? You should.

All I want for Christmas is a laundry elf.
Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 01:24 am (UTC)
I want elves. I really, really, really do. Then again, if I were more organized maybe I wouldn't need them?

...how's the binder system working? Has it gotten you all organized? I need a magic bullet of organization that's not, you know, getting rid of 3/4 of my stuff...
Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 01:30 am (UTC)
Binders, like all my organizational shenanigans, were an epic failure. I'm back to stacks of loose paper, random lists scrawled everywhere, searching through stacks of unsorted mail...well, you know the drill.
Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 03:43 am (UTC)
There has to be a magic solution, though. There HAS to be! I shall procrastinate doing it the hard way (you know, actually cleaning!) while I think of a better way...
Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 05:31 pm (UTC)
tea... Tea?! WTF!

well at least its not Diet coke I guess.. but I could have had twinkies!!

Those boxes are quite telling about what your diet is like though
Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 01:25 am (UTC)
You're not *getting* any tea, it was just a box I had. From work, mind you. Not that I don't drink tea, just not that brand. And you can only pin the Twinkies and Diet Coke on me... the Nestea and the Coke are my hubby's.

When I was in college I had a Diet Coke and an Otis Spunkmeyer Chocolate Chocolate Chip muffin every morning before Calculus. Mmmmmm....
