No, not just a chunk of extraordinarily beautiful fabric! (Seriously, these pictures don't do it justice. It is really nice stuff - the kind of stuff I always drool over in the fabric store, but don't have a *need* for, so can't justify buying.)

Wow, just look at all those little spaces! Perfect for...

Crochet hooks! Yay! (No, I really have tons more than that *one*, but I didn't want to wait any longer to take the picture, so that's what you get. It happened to be laying on the floor, so it was handy. Yeah, this was a perfect present for me... now if I can just make *sure* I always put them away!)

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] auraesque!

And an update on the 'I owe people stuff and I feel really bad' situation:

Icons: people who wanted icons, you're getting them tonight. I mean it.
Drabbles & Poems: by the end of the week. I have to ween myself off writing after the NaNo blitz, anyway!
Most other physical Snerffle prizes: Made and just need to be boxed up.
Quilt kits: I made up a really nice set of instructions today, just need to dig out the fish fabric pieces. But now that I can actually walk into my craft room, that should be possible.
Octopodes: Hopefully will be done this weekend.

"Handmade present" entry...

[livejournal.com profile] lyonza, I'm officially worried about your package. May e-mail you to make sure I got the address 100% right.

[livejournal.com profile] crimsonlotus84, I bought the last thing I needed to put the finishing touches on yours - should go out later this week.

[livejournal.com profile] dynastic_queen, I think I finally figured out what I'm going to send you. It's a bit useless, but pretty, so I hope that's okay.

[livejournal.com profile] mmmontserrat, still thinking. But I might come up with something when I'm rustling around in my craft room.

[livejournal.com profile] clare_dragonfly, I'm a little stumped here, but hopefully I'll think of something soon.

If I'm missing anyone, please jog my memory! I can be forgetful on occasion...

That is very very pretty. I bet it feels all cool and stuff too.

It does, though it also made me realize how dry my hands are. I hate that part of winter!
Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 12:36 am (UTC)
Yay! I am so glad it arrived safely. The fabric actually came from freecycle--this lady gave me a whole stack of gorgeous fabric. I think it's nly right that they will go to my present-making this year. :)

I don't remember if I signed up for your handmade entry.

Wow, nice freecylce! I do so love that type of fabric, but since most of the sewing I do it quilting, it's not really appropriate. So, obviously, I need to branch out!

I don't think you did, but the Christmas Present post will be up soon... ;)

OH BOY! I can has a red octopus to go with my eel!

I R EXCITED!
Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 01:05 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I feel really bad about not getting your octopus to you sooner! Sports has distracted me something awful this year... But I WILL try to get him done this weekend!

Am I going to need a new address for you, though, since you just moved? I'm going to try to do the Christmas Present post soon (today, hopefully), so update it if you need to! (I'd hate for him to get lost, wandering for all eternity stuffed in a box...)

Huh. I had one of those when I was a kid, never knew what it was for. Never had crochet hooks either!
Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 01:05 pm (UTC)
Rather odd to have one if you don't crochet... O.o
Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 03:27 pm (UTC)
I've seen them used with art pencils for kids...

Heh, I saw it and thought "knitting needle roll!"

No worries. I, um, honestly don't remember what else I'm supposed to be getting. I did open your first package over Thanksgiving break--did I tell you? The book thongs are gorgeous, and I am highly amused by the random craft stuff, especially the expired cinnamon stick and the dog bone-shaped caribiner.

I remember! :P

Yeah, I got a lot of that at garage sales over the summer. I love the 'grab bags', but, man, you end up with some weird stuff...

That's a nice flowchart right thar. And a nice storage pack too. It's always more fun when there's stuff in it and you can roll it.

You owe me an Xbox 360 Halo Edition.. I can understand how you could forget it though since the original promise you made was erased and deleted from the internet forever..

*nods sagely*

You can pick it up for my on my b-day
