OHMYGOD IT'S DONE

Wanna play? Head over to [livejournal.com profile] path_of_undeath and click-your own adventure!

I still need to make the introductory/explanation post, which I'll do here in a bit, but I post-dated the first part, so if you head to the first entry you'll be at the start. Have fun!

If you wanna 'cheat' (or be impressed with what a monumental undertaking this was), the flowchart for the story bits is HERE.

Feel free to leave comments correcting mistakes (special thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] penchaft for taking the first run-through and getting rid of TONS of past-tense slippage), I'll update it as people point them out. Eventually it might be a semi-decent story! ;D

Is the beginning the first one posted?

*rubs hands in glee* Procrastination!!

Yeah. I guess I could have just put a temp link up to make it easy.

START HERE (http://path-of-undeath.livejournal.com/5156.html)

:D

Don't procrastinate too much!

Thanks :D

I'll try not to. I just need the occasional break in between the work. I just have one more Story Board to make for the webdesign propoal before, y'know, writing the rest of the proposal. <3 Photoshop.

And 2.5 sections of major stuff for the BioComm manuscript. Hmph. I hate it, sporks. But it will get done. Sigh.

The accompanying icons are genius!!!

I just got through with watching Shaun of the Dead moments ago. For being a comedy, it still freaked me out. I'm so not a horror/zombie person, just a big baby when it comes to those things. So I'm going to have to brace myself before diving in with zombie squirrels!

I made the Doomed one, the rest were made by my f-list during Snerfflebarglast. I really need to dig up that post so I can properly credit them...

It's fairly dark (you die a lot) but then, those books were always that way. Very morbid, really. Maybe that's why I'm so desensitized!

Congratulations! I never doubted you were going to make it. You were just teasing people with those anemic word counts.:) And now I have a bit of reading to do. Please post your updates.

Those were my real word counts! I really wrote 45,000 words in the last five days. I'm surprised I can still type!

There's no more. I am done, it is all posted, and I can put it behind me. Hallelujah!

I WENT OVER THE TOP AND ALL I GOT WAS A LOUSY THANK-YOU

So which is your favourite chain/ending?
Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 06:19 am (UTC)
Thank you VERY MUCH. :D

My favorite ending is definitely going into the cottage and meeting the writer. But there are a lot of good endings, only a few I'm not too fond of. Okay, about half of them are good. I like the more unusual ones.

Favorite chain? If you go down the right forest path on the way to the caves and continuously flip-flop between going left and right...

I think I'm officially addicted to your story. I don't want it to end. I have all kinds of other shit to do, but I keep coming back to it. Screw Christmas decorating!

Anyway... I just wanted to say that I'm really proud of you for not only all of the writing but for stringing this stuff together and making it so much fun. Not only did you write an excellent story with all kinds of fun twists and turns, but you managed to squeeze in fairies, zombies, ninjas, pirates, aliens, vampires, werewolves, superheroes, and crazy writers living in cottages. That's no small feat!

I contemplated doing a choose-your-own-adventure-style Space Vixen story a while back, but it seemed so daunting, especially since it would probably turn out to be one of the longest ones I've ever written. Having read your story (at least as much as I have) I'm seriously considering it again. You've inspired me. Way to go. :-)

Awe, thanks! And thanks for pointing out all the mistakes. It's impossible for me to edit my own work (I see what I meant, not what's actually written).

I think you should do it! For one, that storyline is just weird enough to handle the bizarre CYOA style (think of all the ways you could kill people in outer space and on alien planets!) And I think you'd really enjoy it - sure, it's a long story, but it's also a lot of little stories. I think that would satisfy your desire for in-depth character analysis, but also lots of fun storylines! It's perfect! Y'know, except the second person present tense crap. ;)

If you do (and I really hope you do! I'd totally proof the whole thing for you!) I'd give you one piece of advice. Name/uniquely label all of your cuts. I was in a hurry and just tossed a semi-descriptive sentence at the top, and when it came time to assemble it, eeeehhh, the headache!

So, if I do it again it'll be like this:

Do you go right? Click HERE. [C/V-004]
Do you go left? Click HERE. [C/V-005]

*****

You go right [C/V-004]

*blah blah blah*

Or, you could just give them all fairy names... ;)

Do you go right? Click HERE. [Prettywink]
Do you go left? Click HERE. [Buttercup]

*****

You go right [Prettywink]

*blah blah blah*

Just something to match it up quickly and easily!
