Home today, got a few things done. Or rather, I watched and tried to quiet the dog while other people got things done. Behold, our new back door:

Unlike the old sliding glass door, this one actually locks! Both doors open inward, and we have double screens. We need to put in a real doggie door now, though.

Then I started to get a headache. It's an accomplishment! Anyway, I hope I got to it in time because I kept getting distracted as I was trying to take my ibuprofen. And I still need to find the decongestant. I'll take that with my second cup of cappuccino. Oh, that's right, dear f-list - one of the perks of being home is access to my cool espresso/cappuccino maker! I can tell you're jealous, it's okay.

You're also probably jealous that you can't trick or treat in my neighborhood. Well, a few of you probably could, but not most of you. Check out what I'm handing out:

The good news is I finally made a suitable octopus box. The bad news is I have to say goodbye. It'll be sad, but he's going to a good home.

As far as back doors go, yours looks mighty fine.

And that's why I seriously reconsidered writing that as 'patio doors'. :P

Ooh, nice doors! Much nicer-looking than sliding glass.

I'm totally jealous we can't trick or treat in your neighbourhood...ours is kinda lame.

Yeah, I think it really classes up the room. :)

It's funny that I dislike kids but I go through a lot of trouble for this... somehow I feel like this is something I *have* to do because complete strangers did it for me as a kid, and I can't break that tradition. Even if I cringe when I have to talk to the little rug-rats! ;)

Well, you would have gotten on well with Fianna tonight, then. She didn't WANT people to talk to her, and in fact was quite offended when they did. Because they kept saying "Oh, you're so cute!"

And she was totally appalled. "No, I'm a ZOMBIE!"

And we all know, zombies are NOT cute.

I bet I could come trick or treating ;)

Nice doors, btw. Very pretty.

You could probably make it, but trust me, the toys aren't worth the gas! They're good, but not that good...

Thanks, I'm really happy with it. :)

My day isn't complete without a little backdoor action

It's always a toss-up between you, [livejournal.com profile] aeamek, and [livejournal.com profile] cdpeck for biggest smart ass. I think you win this round, though.

Well played.

Those little bags are what make it. <3 I sometimes wish Halloween was a bigger deal in the UK, and that I didn't live in such a remote location.

Remember: you can always make another Octo!

I love my little ghostie bags! :) And one of the kids made me feel really good last year - when she saw them, her eyes got all big and she said, "Are those for us?" As much as I don't like kids, I admit that really made it worth it.

I actually HAVE to make two more, I promised people! But until my neck/shoulder heals enough to finish the drywall mudding in the basement, those kinds of crafts are on hold. :/

Oooh, pretty. I soooo prefer French doors.

I'm thinking you need to toss a few of those peanutbutter cups over my way. :D

I was surprised at how much better it made the room look. I mean, obviously, I expected it to look nicer, but it looks a lot nicer.

If I could throw it that far, I would!

Yup, candy is GOOD! It looks like we'll have some left over, too!

And thanks!
