Dear Xbox 360:
I realize that the commercial is showing fun things, and you're pushing an 'adventurous' product. I know you want to portray an image of people having fun, enjoying your product. You want the commercials to say, 'hey, look at how much fun these folks are having, you need to get one of these if you want to join in!'
And I even understand the desire for peppy music, and since the product is aimed at children (regardless of age) I can even see the having a chorus of children singing. It portrays youth and vitality and makes people think (however erroneously) that this is a slice of carefree childhood that they can grab onto with both hands and not ever let go of... at least until they have to get up and go to work in the morning.
But even understanding where you were going with this... I have to say you picked a really, really, really bad song. Especially for 8-year olds to sing.
I realize the lyrics may seem harmless enough, and maybe you thought that pairing it with images of people doing innocuous, fun activities would, perhaps, negate the original intent of the song. But I am a child of the 80s, Xbox, and I know, no matter what images you put with it, that when Poison sang about 'nothing but a good time' they were not talking about video games.
And hearing little children sing that song just kinda makes my skin crawl.
You might want to re-think that particular ad campaign. Just sayin'.
