I know it's not a big deal. I know I should be happy overall. But I'm not. Maybe I'm more competitive than I think. Maybe I just want some recognition of a job well done. Maybe I really did want that day off.
Background: weight-loss contest at work, top prize being a day off.
Upshot: according to their 'unfair to pear-shaped people' fat percentage measuring device (a scale) I haven't lost ANY fat percentage points. Sure, it doesn't help I'm not too hydrated, but those scales are pretty inaccurate. Which, according to their point system, gives me NEGATIVE points.
And yet, weight-wise, I did well. 12 pounds lost. Many an inch shed about the thighs and hips. And, according to MY highly inaccurate fat-measuring scale, I've shed 2% in fat percentage. Of course, I measured it three times in succession and got readings of 40.7, 41.4, and 40.9. Which gives me anywhere from 2.8 to 5.4 points. Maybe not enough to win, but at least it's POSITIVE.
I'm just bummed, and I can't help myself. It doesn't help that it's almost that, uh, time...
