NEW SCOREBOARD UP!

For those of you down near the bottom, don't worry, there will be opportunities to catch up. And there are Insta-Prizes to be had, as well, so don't give up! PLUS! I've decided to change the terms of winning - sort of. It benefits everyone, so I think you'll be okay with the change.

New Rules
Prizes will be awarded based on a 'cash in your points' system. Remember when you were a kid (or maybe, 'remember yesterday' for some of you) and you went to the arcade? They machines spit out those little tickets and you took them to the counter and got prizes? Totally like that. Your place in the lineup will determine picking order and you can pick as much stuff out of the 'gift shop' as you can 'afford'. There will be all sorts of things at all 'price ranges', probably from 1 point for a 'custom' icon or pimpage all the way up to... well, I'll have to see how high the points get! ;) Okay with everyone? Okay, on to the winners for round one and two!

Round one
My picks were [livejournal.com profile] blogalypse ([livejournal.com profile] penchaft), [livejournal.com profile] brainssssssssss ([livejournal.com profile] clare_dragonfly), [livejournal.com profile] path_of_undeath ([livejournal.com profile] leaper), and [livejournal.com profile] dontruninheels ([livejournal.com profile] poskunk).

Check out who entered what HERE.

Round two
Sadly, no one won the Insta-Prize on this one, an Issac Asimov book. You see, at the Black Widower meetings (my very favorite short story/mystery collections!) they always begin the meetings with the question 'how do you justify your existence?' Any allusion to that would have won you an Asimov book. Still, lots of wonderful answers, but top props going to [livejournal.com profile] nyarhotep for the literal view (a sentiment also expressed by [livejournal.com profile] poskunk, but, well, less creatively!), [livejournal.com profile] clare_dragonfly for her touching and oh-so-simple reply, [livejournal.com profile] revoked_soul for her pithy remark, and [livejournal.com profile] cazrolime for an interesting ramble. [livejournal.com profile] tarpo also racked up some bonus points for combining 'reeked' and 'awesome' in the same sentence and making it a compliment.

Check out all the answers HERE.

I feel bad about not giving everyone billions of points, but this is a competition! There have to be places, right? SO go catch up with the new board leader [livejournal.com profile] gelsey and PLAY ROUND THREE!

I assumed it would be the Isaac Asimov thing, but since I received OUTSIDE KNOWLEDGE that it was on the google search query, I didn't do anything. hee.

You probably wouldn't have loved a book by his so much, since most of the ones of his I have are mysteries, and I know you're not a mystery fan! I know he's mostly known for his sci-fi, but I like the mysteries better...

Silly Pen, not using your outside knowledge! :P

I love it that my SF club has, like, a shelf and a half of his SF books, and that's only a drop in the ocean. I never knew he did mysteries!

I think he wrote just about everything... at least, everything 'decent' by your standards (I have yet to come across a bona fide romance novel by him!). I have some of his sci-fi, a bunch of mysteries, and a few non-fiction.

Oh hellaciousness - I knew there was something I forgot to do. (although it seems I'm not quite at the bottom of the list)

Oh, there will be plenty of catching up to be had, never fear!
