Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Here, I believe, the books take a turn for the more mysterious. There are layers of innuendo and hints of plot that aren’t expressed as well in the movie. I think this is where the movies take on a bit more of an ‘eye-candy’ roll. Fluffy and enjoyable, but without the books you really don’t get the underlying story. After re-reading the book I find myself wondering about a great deal more. Picking apart careless phrases and wondering if there’s hidden meaning.

I’m turning into… a fan.

It won’t last, though. I have not the attention span to be a true fan – any world will eventually bore me, and I move on to new and exciting ‘fandoms’. But for now, I find myself fascinated by the Harry Potter world, and sincerely hope a lot of the questions are answered on Saturday (I have a feeling by Saturday, if I’ve made it through all the books, I’ll have even more questions!

GoF - 734 pages
OotP – 896 pages
HBP – 672 pages

Total – 2302 pages / 4 days = 575.5 pages per day.

Honestly, I’m not sure I’m going to make it! I know, I should have started sooner, or at least gotten through GoF this weekend. Stupid Jewel Quest. *grump* And heaven forbid I want to make any icons this week. I think it’ll have to be another week I skip most of them.

I'm always a little awed by people who are serious, hardcore fans. Of anything. I find it both impressive and a little creepy.

I myself lack something in that department. Perhaps attention span, as you said. Perhaps something else...but I've just never had that crazed love of anything.

If your fan status lasts, let me know what its like to be a convert. I'm intrigued. ;)

Anyway, you'll make it, especially if you have Friday off! I probably won't, but I'm not in a huge hurry.

I think I will - I got those page numbers from Amazon, and they're a little off. Plus, since I have Friday, I have 5 days, which is only 450 pages per day. And I got that done last night, and brought my book with me to work so I can read at lunch.

Well, yeah. But then you move onto another fandom until someone randomly posts something and you get sucked right back in. :D That's usually what happens with me. I vary between TV show fandoms that I might be into at that time and then someone posts something about HP or Star Wars or SG-1/SGA and I get completely sucked back into them for a while.

Bah I should start reading GoF too. I figure I can just skim through HBP cos I reread two weeks ago. It's OotP I'm not looking forward to reading. ::rolls eyes::

I'm like that too - I bounce between obsessing over different shows, never landing on one for too long. But I often find myself coming back to the same ones...
