I want to do this.

I even have some old Altoids tins I could spray-paint to for holders/packaging...

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realize that [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl post was f-locked. Here's the picture of the finished product (I uploaded it to my scrapbook).

I'm sorry. :( I always get cranky when people reference f-locked posts. Usually I would have noticed, but there aren't many locked posts in that community! I've edited the post with a new link to my LJ scrapbook, though somehow I think you'll be less than impressed... ;)

I would, were I a Hogwarts student, just to see what would happen.

Yeah, I think I'd get expelled...

Sorry, I didn't realize it was an f-locked post!

This is what I was talking about (http://pics.livejournal.com/smeddley/pic/000ay2t7/g8). The post gives a tutorial, but it's just that magnet-on-a-roll stuff that she's put the words on. :)

Hee hee, that's cute!

Dude, those totally rock. *hearts totally*

I'm going to try to take a picture of the baby blanket my mum just finished. She wove it square by square with a little loom, which most people don't ever see/seem to know about these days. She's made bunches. I've done a couple too, but as we have only one loom I don't have access any more...

Where those the little loops of stretchy fabric that you made potholders on? I remember those... And other looms are becoming popular in craft stores, now. People are re-discovering weaving!

I'm really going to see about making some. Sadly, I was in Hobby Lobby yesterday and forgot to get magnet, so it probably won't be today. But I'm going to do something crafty today! I AM!

I just finished Errol the Owl using the pattern from the Charmed Knits book. Its a book for knitted HP inspired crafts. The thing is... you follow te directions for Errol the Owl and you end up with Errol the Penguin. I think they futzed up the pattern.

Yeah, it totally looks like a penguin. I think it needs to be wider, mostly. And the beak looks a little long... I'd say the pattern needs a little tweaking.

I reserved that book at the library, just to see what's in it. It'll probably take awhile for me to get it - I'm like 9th on the list. :/

Yeah.. plus the instructions font tell you how to attach the feet, and how to make the beak look like a beak. So yeah... pattern is all wrong. I found a different pattern for an owl that I am trying, I will try to post a picture if anyone cares. But I do happen to like my Errol the Penguin

It's actually a pretty nice penguin pattern!

Some of the things I like the best don't turn out the way I intended, so I can understand you love of Errl the Penguin. :)

If it turns out well, do post a picture! And perhaps a link to the pattern... if it's on-line. Or at least the title of the book you got it from!

Heh. Well I think I did pretty good for my first try, and having to make thingd up as I go. I hopefully will have the other owl finished this weekend. Its been too hot to knit otherwise. I will take a photo of the new one and of course, Errol, my owl who thinks he is a penguin.

If you make an extra set of these, I'd pay you for them. We have quite a large HP fan base at my house.

I'll post a pic when I'm done and you can decide if you still want some! I'm struggling with font choice right now. Nothing seems quite right! Well, a few do, but I wanted a fairly wide variety of fonts... :/ We'll see. Maybe when I go back and look it won't seem so bad.
