So it's Saturday. No work, a day to get all that stuff done around the house I put off Monday-Friday (on the justification that between work (10 hours/day including lunch and commute) and sleep (arguably 7 hours) I only have 7 hours a day to relax, watch TV, read, craft, walk the dog, cook dinner, clean, etc. And all the little things add up - oh, there's playing with the dog, sorting through the mail, checking LJ and my e-mail... not to mention essential things like showering, brushing your teeth, and applying enough lotion to drown a small Lilliputian village.

So I console myself by saying 'I'll do it this weekend'. Then, of course, the weekend arrives and I want to relax, not do any work. I justify this by saying that I work hard all week, this is my chance to kick back and relax!

And that's how I end up with dust bunnies the size of Godzilla and a disposition to match. I swear they've become sentient and are forming a union. I'm going to need lawyers, not a vacuum, to get rid of them.

While I have accomplished a few things this morning (emptied the dishwasher and did the dishes in the sink, as well as gave the dog a bath - she really, really needed it!) there are some other things I need to accomplish today. And I would like you, my dear f-list, to hold me accountable. That, of course, means severe mockage, reprimands, and the 'I'm so disappointed in you' speeches if I fail.

Reasonably, I would like to:

* Do the taxes (I know, they should have been done weeks ago, I'm getting money back, I don't know why I'm putting it off! Oh, right... laziness). - is it childish of me to be vaguely amused (especially given my dreams of late) that I owe the state $69?

* Do all the laundry, including getting it put away (this may or may not be physically possible, as the washer does take awhile to run - 90 minutes on the 'white' cycle. But as long as I keep it moving all day I'll have to consider this one done. That means no letting it sit for more than 30 minutes between loads). - close enough, considering we went to the grocery store, too!

* Read half of the book for my book club on Monday, the second half to be completed tomorrow.

* Clean all the crap out of my car.

* Accomplish three other things of my choosing from my planner/giant to-do-list book.

* Clean the kitchen floor (vacuum and mop).

* Vacuum the upstairs hallway (after arming self against mutant dust-bunny attack)

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] revoked_soul? I had a 'hair spider' scare the other day! I was picking something up off the floor, and a clump of hair got dislodged from somewhere (maybe my coat, I don't know). It came floating down beside me, and out of the corner of my eye I swear it looked just like a spider descending on a web. Perfect name! My compliments to the creator!

Did you shriek and run away? That's the only proper reaction to a full-fledged hair spider attack!

I'll pass along the compliments. She has quite a way with words, that child. ;)

I jumped, but no shrieking and running away. ;) It only took me half a second to realize what it was, and I'm not afraid of no hair clump! :p

She does indeed! Must get it from her mom... :D

Not my fault! I didn't coin the term. You'll have to take that up with a three-year old. ;)
