Pre-Snerffle Answers and Point Opportunity

The answers to my lyric meme have been posted. I'll tell you now there may be music questions during Snerfflebarglast, so getting a feel for my musical tastes (that was a pretty good cross-section) may help.

No one got the correct answer as to why I almost couldn't donate blood, but there were lots of bonus points given out. Okay, poskunk got it by he had the pretty big clue of me sticking a hand on his head. It was, as always, ice cold. That's right, I couldn't donate blood because my body temperature was too low. Evidently your temperature has to be 95° before you can donate blood. My first reading was 94.6° and the second one (shoving the thermometer so far back into my mouth I could swear it was measuring the temperature of my brain and rubbing my tongue over ot - hey, friction is warm, right?) was 95.4°. This is what I get for working in a meat locker. (Oh, and no, I hadn't had anything cold to drink right before)

So! Another bonus point opportunity. I need a new icon for Snerfflebarglast. So if I get more than one entry they'll be voting and the top one gets 10 points, otherwise, the points go to whoever submits the only one. Deadline is Friday, the 14th (5pm Central Standard Time), and we can vote (if we have to) over the weekend with the winning icon being used in the first challenge on the 17th.

My internal body temp runs a bit low too. But not that low, and I hadn't heard of that regarding blood donation.

I hadn't either, that's why I thought it was so odd! My body temp used to run about 96.8°, but this was a new low for me!

That strawberry is going to give my nightmares... It's like some mutant son of the Kool-Aid mad and a mad strawberry....

+1 for the awesome parody, but, sadly, a -1 for getting the Saftey Dance stuck in my head(my co-workers would also like to lodge a complaint, as I have a tendancy to sing aloud, and my voice... well, it's not a good singing voice).

I feel for you on the trainees. Every year when we get a new crop of interns I go through a period of frustrated exhaustion dealing with getting them settled and working. :(
