So, I took a pinhole camera class last week, and it was a LOT of fun. Except the drive, because it was rather in the center of town (though not downtown proper) and the roads are narrow and twisty and they have very weird (five-way!) intersections. Ugh!
We built our own cameras, and used photo paper to capture images (film would have taken too long to develop, and it was a woefully short class). I got a few decent ones, but unfortunately I can't continue with it this way because I have no room in my house that would really work as a darkroom. The only rooms without windows are the bathroom in the basement (which is TINY, and needs to remain functional as a bathroom!) and they unfinished area in the basement (which is small and awkwardly shaped). Plus chemicals are not great for you and disposal and and and.
( Here are two of the pictures I took and printed, maybe more later! )
So I went out and bought a pinhole lens for my DSLR. You can just tape a home-made pinhole cover over the exposed camera body (no lens) but that made me... eh. I don't really want to stress my camera out and I'm not great about getting in cleaned, so the less contamination, the better. If we'd had an older, extra camera around I might have done it, but this lens and adapter does other things that people seem to like.
I wanted to play with it today, but it's grey and rainy (very not good for pinhole photos!). We needed the rain, so I can't be too upset, but... *pouty face* Maybe tomorrow morning!
