One of the simple things I've yet to start on my 50/50 list is drabbles. I just haven't been inspired! So! Leave me a prompt, and you'll get a postcard with a story inspired by your prompt mailed to you (if I have your address) or emailed to you (if I don't).

This will also help with my Month of Letters, as I am running out of people and ideas for that.

I've also not been reading much, I've started and put down more books than I can count (okay, not really, since I can count quite high, without even taking off my socks!). But none of them are grabbing me. I even have up on this month's book club book, The Snowman, by Jo Nesbo.

Sample from the first page: "She heard the buzz of the doorbell inside, like a bumblebee in a jam jar."

Then there's a very weird sex scene with a nipple-less man interrupted by a snowman face, which is just as well since the woman had left her son out in the backseat of her car (?!) and he was freezing.

Beginning of Chapter 2, and we're introduced to the main character, Harry Hole. Then a derisive left-field comment about American politics (why oh why must people shoehorn in nasty political commentary where it's not needed? What does it have shit-all to do with a simple murder-mystery in Norway?) and... that's where I stopped. Page 8. Might be a record!

In other news, we have snow today! It'll probably mostly melt today and tomorrow (it's supposed to warm back up into the 40s) but it finally seems a but like winter.

My heart also goes out to the extraordinary number of friends who have recently lost pets. I know how much a part of the family they can be, and words just don't convey... anything, really. But it's all I have, and I truly am sorry.
