Today is the day I get back on the bandwagon. Today I start working toward my goals again! Today I finally feel mostly recovered from whatever that was that made me so very ill. That's really the biggest downside I've found to getting older - I don't bounce back as quickly as I used to. Blergh.

Anyway, I have a tickymark next to another one of my goals, and that is trying now foods. Yesterday I tried a pomegranate. Now, I've tried pomegranate juice and other pomegranate flavored things, but I'm still counting this as a new food because... well, I don't have a whole lot of ideas for new foods (if you can think of one, let me know, because jicama is next and I'm at a loss for the other 8). Anyway, bottom line is: lovely flavor, but I'll stick with the juice. They're a fiddly pain in the ass to open, messy as all get out, even when you're trying to be careful, and there's not a lot to them. I don't like eating seeds (not that I think they'll grow in my belly or anything like that, I just don't like them), so it's rather pointless for me.

Today I tackled BabyStep 13 - Pick one of Kelly's Missions and do it.

Well, I tried to tackle it. The problem is that the missions are broken down into the zones, and FlyLady assumes you have similar zones and use your rooms in the same way she does. And, yes, I know you can modify, but at what point are you modifying so much you're not doing the program? I think I've more than hit that point, but...

Anyway, the only missions up today are about the front porch (cleaning it off), and picking up your hot spots in the entry, porch, and dining room. While I admit I could hose off next to my stoop (urgh), I don't really have a porch. And I don't pile mail or school papers on my dining room table (it's a pretty unused - read: clean - room). There's not a lot for me to do in those areas! Yes, I could pick up the shoes, but they're there because that's where we use them. They're lined up under the coats where they belong. And I could dust, but... I don't feel bad about those areas.

So I spent 45 minutes cleaning up in my craft room and office, which needed it a LOT more. At this point I'm struggling to continue with the FlyLady routine, because it's obviously not for me. But there are 31 BabySteps, and I promised to give them a try. So I will continue on, modifying as I go.

The summary of the steps and what I am/am not doing so far: )
