First up, some baking I did last week!

CREAM PUFFS! )

Made completely from scratch, even the pudding, though I will tell you I'm not keen to repeat that performance. When it started to bubble (as it was supposed to) it splashed on me and earned the #2 spot on my 'bubbling foods I do not want on me' list, right after cheese. I think molten lava would cool faster.

CRANBERRY BREAD PUDDING! )

I love bread pudding, and raisins are okay, but I love love love love LOVE cranberries. I don't know what took me so long to realize I should substitute cranberries for raisins in the bread pudding. There's really no raisin (bonus Snerffle points - name that quote!) not too! OMG - AWESOME.

BEADED NECKLACE! OOOOH AND AHHHH AT IT! )

So, a friend asked us to buy some beads at the bead show and we thought we'd put them into a, uh, necklace for her. The goal is for it to be a little too much, a little over-the-top, but not so much she'll know right away. We're wondering if we can get her to wear it at least once before we admit it's just a joke and we mean for her to take it apart and use the beads. So, I ask you - is your reaction one of befuddled 'am I supposed to like this?' or have I not gone far enough, or is your reaction 'that is hideous' and I've gone too far? Please note she's a belly dancer so she does like large, flashy jewelry, to a point. I have very little ability to judge because I'm a very dainty jewelry person, so this is uncharted territory for me!

I do think that, even though it's supposed to be temporary, I need to further secure the large ball to the necklace part, but I was wondering if it needs anything else? Or anything removed...

Must be off to write the next PYOA chapter for tickeybox, since it's already late. And maybe saying I'm going to do it will kick me into gear to actually do it...

Hopefully I will post later on the controversial subject of brightly colored Daleks and how they now really, really, really resemble Kitchen Aid mixers, something they didn't need that much help with, what with the whisk attachment they already had.

Oh, and my complete series of Due South arrived, so now that I've finished with the slick, techno-packed Season 1 of NCIS, I can go back to an era of cell phones the size of masonry bricks... :D
