Well, the biggest news is that I finally found a good use for those motivational posters I'd held on to:

Why did I have motivational posters? See, long ago I'd been looking for a way to hang up my Demotivators, but they're an odd shape (not standard poster-frame size) and would require custom frames. Not cheap. But then I stumbled upon three motivational posters, mounted and framed in metal frames with glass at a garage sale for $1 each. They were slightly water-stained, but I didn't care. $1 frames! With glass! Which now hold my Demotivators in my craft room. But for some reason I never got around to tossing out the old ones. Maybe because I always thought I might have a use for the foamcore they're mounted on. And so I did.

Now, even longer ago, when we first moved in, there was a leak at the washer connection. Since our laundry is on the second floor (so very nice) it leaked down, luckily into the garage. But it did some damage to the ceiling. And we've had a great gaping hole ever since. This is a little chilly on the laundry floor come winter, and I even have the drywall to fix it, but... I'm also going to need to take down a light fixture, and I've never gotten around to it. Plus, I want to do it in the summer, so I'm not freezing (I need to leave the garage door open for enough light!) and that's not when I think about it, because it's not an issue when it's warm. But yesterday I went out in the cold and slapped those posters up there. They're held up by a few drywall screws, and the boxes help hold up the weight, and the duct tape is just for a seal.

Yay, me! But how long can such productivity last? Besides the MacGyver-ed ceiling patch, I also finished making two batches of cupcakes (one of which was the labor-intensive Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes), cleaned the kitchen, did laundry, re-hung the coat rack that'd fallen, hung up some pictures, vacuumed, finished putting the fringe on a shawl/hip scarf, and started on some drywall repair. Oh, and drank two pots of coffee. But the question is - can I keep this level up? It'd be some awesome to really, finally, start to get caught up on all the crap I have to do around here...
