If I do it enough times, will it be permanent?

Behold my horrific crocheting injury:



THAT'S why I don't like crocheting snowflakes out of #10 cotton. I think I put a little too much tension there across my finger. Okay, nothing like the time the dog's retractable leash cord went zipping across my ankle (that indentation is permanent, and it hurt like hell), but it's a crocheting injury. That's like breaking a leg playing chess (aaaaaand, name that movie!).

Update on all that is Windows 7/Office 2007 still coming, I'm still forming some opinions...
