For my knitting friends out there (I know there are a few!) I have a question for you. I was looking for info on increasing (when I was trying to make my snake my increases left too big a hole, so I don't think I was doing it quite right) and noticed that in most of the videos I found, the knitter was holding the yarn in their right hand.
This seems like it would be more time-consuming (not to mention hard on your wrist) since you have to loop it over the needle.
I trail the yarn over my left hand, same as when I crochet. Perhaps because I learned to crochet first (about 8 years earlier) that seems easiest to me.
But my question it this: does it really, in terms of the finished product, make a difference?
